Qualifications:
Valid Occupational Therapist license in Illinois Previous experience in a school or pediatric environment preferred Familiarity with middle school-aged students and their developmental needs Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) Strong organizational and time management skills to handle caseload demands Excellent interpersonal communication and teamwork capabilities
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct assessments to identify students' occupational needs within the educational framework Develop and execute therapy interventions and supports both in and out of the classroom Collaborate closely with teachers, families, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated care Document progress, maintain accurate records, and participate in IEP meetings Provide consultative services and resources to staff for effective student inclusion and accommodation Foster a positive, engaging, and safe therapeutic environment This contract role offers the chance to support a welcoming school community near Elgin, IL, backed by professional resources and opportunities for continued development.
