Job Description

JOB DETAILS
SPT's are responsible for instrument and medical device decontamination, organization, and packaging for surgeries in an operating room. In addition to sterilizing documents, SPT's record everything they do and keeping track of any apparatus deliveries or changes. SPT's do not work directly with patients. Sterile Processing Tech's generally work in a hospital and/or outpatient clinic setting.
Education/Requirements:
High School education is required, some states also require the completion of a certificate program. Program lengths vary but they tend to require anywhere from ten weeks to two years, though most are between 4 to 8 months. •Nights; client to review profiles
