SUMMARY This position is responsible for preparing pastries and a variety of baked goods for Coho Café. The Baker will maintain a sanitary and organized kitchen and will bake accordingly in order to meet required par levels.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Follow recipes and production guidelines to prepare baked goods while adhering to food safety, food handling, and sanitation procedures. keep a clean and sanitized baking station while running efficiently, track inventory and order baking materials. Possess a strong sense of teamwork and ability to manage/work in high pressure situations Understanding of basic baking techniques including but not limited to measuring, weighing, mixing and chopping ingredients Operate various kitchen equipment such as ovens, mixers, etc. Create new and seasonal menu items Interest and ability to carry out repetitious tasks Ability to work a variety of days and early hours, weekends. 40-50 hours/week Any additional tasks as assigned by Kitchen Manager

EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); prior kitchen and/or baking experience is preferred.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS

Individual must possess excellent interpersonal skills and good oral and written command of English. Ability to effectively present and respond to guests, customers, and kitchen staff.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as conversions and measurements. Individual must be detail oriented. Accuracy is a must.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to walk and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to l0 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
