Job Description
The Human Resource Generalist will perform administrative tasks and services to support effective and efficient operations of the organization's human resource department. Our ideal candidate must have strong communication skills and is confident in speaking with team members at all levels. We enjoy working with people who think 'outside-the-box' and are always interested in process improvement. Position details are listed below.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
None Duties/Responsibilities:
Maintains accurate and up-to-date human resource files, safety records, and documentation. Answers frequently asked questions from applicants and employees relative to standard policies, benefits, hiring processes, etc.; refers more complex questions to appropriate senior-level human resource management. Maintains the integrity and confidentiality of human resource and payroll files and records. Performs periodic audits of human resource and payroll files and records to ensure that all required documents are collected and filed appropriately. Provides clerical support to the Human Resource Manager. Assist with time, attendance and payroll functions including time and attendance review, answering employee questions, assisting employees with correcting any timekeeping errors, and distributing checks. Acts as a liaison between the organization and external benefits providers and vendors, which may include health, disability, and retirement plan providers. Conducts or assists with new hire orientation. Assists with planning and execution of special events such as benefits enrollment, organization-wide meetings and employee recognition events. Complete and respond to employment verifications and employee benefit verifications. Assist with all internal and external HR-related matters. Participate in implementing organizational guidelines and procedures. Assist HR Manager with employee relation issues, including internal investigations and providing recommendations for resolutions. Performs other duties as assigned.Required Skills/Abilities:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Bilingual (English/Spanish) Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software. Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn payroll management, human resource information system (HRIS), and similar computer applications.Education and Experience:
Minimum 2-yrs experience within an HR Department in a similar role Solid knowledge of HR policies and best practices Prior related office experience preferred. 3 years of experience as an HR Coordinator (essential). Deep understanding of Labor Law and employment equity regulations.Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Keying frequently, handling, reaching and finger dexterity Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
