We are seeking a Estimator I/Matterport Technician to join our team. This is a foundational, entry-level role designed to fast-track your skills in estimating, project support, and cutting-edge digital field technology. You will play a critical role in our workflow by capturing high-quality virtual documentation on-site and translating that data into accurate estimates.
Key Responsibilities:
Field Data & Matterport Collection:
Capture site imagery: Use Matterport, Hover, moisture mapping, and digital photography to create exact virtual models of project sites.
Document site details:
Measure room dimensions and ceiling heights, ensuring all damage is visually captured (including closets, ceilings, and obstructed areas).
Schedule site visits:
Coordinate directly with customers to schedule and conduct field inspections efficiently.
Manage field gear:
Maintain, charge, and safely operate all digital tools, meters, and scanning equipment.
Estimating & Project Support:
Write entry-level estimates: Prepare sketches, layouts, and data entry for projects averaging $5,000 to $10,000.
Utilize Xactimate:
Input site data to create accurate estimation files.
Process change orders:
Document and draft written change orders for any adjustments made to the original scope of work.
Customer walk-throughs:
Guide customers through pre-construction and final project walk-throughs (virtually or in person) to ensure full satisfaction.
Administration & Project Supervision:
Keep files updated: Log daily updates into our CRM and file management tracking systems before the end of each workday.
Manage schedules:
Maintain calendar updates in Outlook and internal scheduling software.
Oversee select projects:
Coordinate and supervise subcontractors on smaller "write-and-run" projects to ensure work stays on budget and on schedule.
Qualifications:
Strong communication: Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to communicate professionally with clients, vendors, and subcontractors.
High organization:
A detail-oriented professional who can manage daily documentation, expense logs, and project tracking diligently.
Tech-savvy mindset:
Experience with or a strong ability to learn spatial scanning technology (Matterport, Hover) and data collection tools. Valid Driver's License/Reliable transportation: Required for daily travel to inspection and project sites.
Education/Training:
An Associate's degree or technical certification in construction management, drafting, or a related field, preferred.
