Position Summary:
The Material Handler I is responsible for the preparation, staging, and movement of raw materials and finished goods to support safe, efficient, and productive manufacturing operations. This position supports production activities by ensuring materials are available when needed, maintaining organized work areas, and assisting with packaging and material handling processes. Material Handlers are expected to work safely, maintain quality standards, and contribute to a team-oriented environment built on respect, responsibility, creativity, and reliability.
Position Responsibilities:
Follow all Morcon safety policies, procedures, and work instructions. Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment. Adhere to established work schedules, break schedules, and Shift Leadership direction. Serve as a spotter for powered industrial equipment as required. Utilize assigned personal protective equipment and report safety concerns promptly. Prepare, stage, and organize raw materials required for production, including paper, boxes, bags, tape, shrink wrap, and pallets. Support roll change activities by preparing and staging parent rolls and related materials. Coordinate with Material Handler II and production team members to ensure timely material availability. Assist with packaging operations and other production support activities as directed. Transport finished products to designated palletizing and staging areas. Properly stack, wrap, and prepare finished goods for storage or shipment. Move finished pallets using pallet jacks and other approved equipment. Ensure finished goods meet established quality and stacking requirements. Operate designated material handling and production support equipment within training and authorization limits. Assist with loading materials into packaging and palletizing equipment. Clear minor equipment jams and perform basic operational adjustments as trained. Maintain cleanliness of production areas through waste removal, recycling activities, sweeping, and general housekeeping. Support baler operation and waste handling activities as directed.
Position Requirements:
Must be at least 18 years of age. Safety-focused with the ability to follow established procedures and work instructions. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. Positive attitude with the ability to work effectively in a team environment. Self-motivated with the ability to work independently when required. Dependable with reliable transportation and strong attendance. Ability to communicate effectively in a diverse work environment. Flexibility to work any shift as business needs require. Mechanical aptitude and manufacturing experience preferred.
Pay:
From $20.00 per hour
