About the Role

LUKE is seeking an experienced and motivated Human Resources Generalist to join our growing Human Resources team. Reporting directly to the Human Resources Director, the HR Generalist serves as a strategic partner to operational leaders and employees by supporting key HR functions, including employee relations, recruitment, onboarding, benefits administration, performance management, compliance, and leave administration.

This role is ideal for an HR professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys solving complex employee issues, and is passionate about creating a positive employee experience while ensuring compliance with employment laws and company policies.

Key Responsibilities

Employee Relations & Compliance

Provide guidance and support to managers on employment-related matters, including ADA, FMLA, FLSA, harassment, discrimination, diversity, corrective action, and progressive discipline.

Conduct employee relations investigations and provide recommendations for resolution.

Support conflict resolution efforts and promote employee engagement initiatives.

Review and assess termination requests and conduct exit interviews.

Ensure consistent application of company policies and procedures.

Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.

Leave Management & Accommodations

Administer leave of absence programs, including

FMLA, ADA

accommodations, and other applicable leave programs.

Coordinate transitional work programs and return-to-work processes.

Provide employees with necessary leave and accommodation documentation.

Talent Acquisition & Onboarding

Recruit, interview, and staff positions from internal and external talent sources.

Coordinate onboarding activities and ensure accurate employee data entry within HR systems.

Support workforce planning initiatives and long-term staffing strategies.

Performance Management & Training

Assist managers with performance management processes through coaching, training, and feedback.

Conduct employee and supervisor training on company policies, benefits, and workplace compliance topics.

Support organizational culture initiatives and employee development programs.

Benefits & Compensation

Assist with open enrollment and benefits administration activities.

Support bonus programs, merit increase processes, and compensation-related reporting.

Respond to employee inquiries regarding benefits and HR programs.

HR Operations & Reporting

Maintain employee records in compliance with company policies and legal requirements.

Perform HR audits and compliance reviews, including payroll and personnel records audits.

Generate reports and assist with HR metrics, budgeting, and workforce planning initiatives.

Support workers' compensation administration and safety-related HR programs.

Additional Responsibilities

Travel to assigned locations as needed to support HR operations and employee engagement initiatives.

Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications

Required

Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.

Minimum of 3 years of Human Resources experience.

Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulations.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict-resolution abilities.

Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS systems.

Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion.

Preferred

Professional Human Resources certification such as PHR or SPHR.

Experience supporting multi-site or geographically dispersed workforces.

Experience with HRIS, payroll, and applicant tracking systems.
