#1 – Love Right

By: Angelina M.

Close up of a shattered glass heart standing upright on a reflective surface with sharp fragments scattered around it. A deep red rose lies softly blurred in the background, adding contrast to the broken crystal heart in the foreground. The dramatic lighting and rich colors emphasize themes of heartbreak and lost love.

Writer’s Note:

The genre is R&B/Soul, it’s kinda based off of Kehlani, and off of my experiences. It’s a little long but I hope you enjoy!

[verse 1]
Now we’re right back at the deep edge
I can’t seem to get my heart to stay attached
Your love blinded me like a bright flash
I had a weak spot and you knew that
My love was fragile, kept it in a safe latch
You had a smile painted like a stained glass
So sweet but sneaky like a serpent
Had me wrapped around your finger and you knew that

[pre-chorus]
I can’t do this
It’s like the more we talk
The more we fight
And you can’t do this
You push me with your confidence
Then act so shy

[Chorus]
Girl, you’re hurting me so bad
And that’s making me so sad
‘Cause I gave you everything I had
And girl, don’t you act all too glad
You really know how to make one mad
You really pushed my feeling and you know that
You can’t risk this
Your public image matters most of all
If you can’t love right
Then don’t love me at all

[Verse 2]
Now i’m staring at the ceiling tryna wonder why
Why you went all this way just to tell me lies
Should’ve known that the clock was running out of time
‘Cause you closed the doors way up ahead of time
Now I’m hating every moment that we shared at night
Hate the feeling that I couldn’t hold you tight
Now it’s getting exhausting when you tell me lies
Should’ve said form the get-go that it didn’t feel right

[pre-chorus]
I can’t do this
Its like the more we talk
The more we fight
And you can’t do this
You turn your back
With no real reason why

[chorus]
Girl, you’re hurting me so bad
And that’s making me so sad
‘Cause I gave you everything I had
And girl, don’t you act all too glad
You really know how to make one mad
You really pushed my feeling and you know that
You can’t risk this
Your public image matters most of all
If you can’t love right
Then don’t love me at all

[outro]
Should’ve known better
Then to mess with somebody like you
Should’ve known better
That you were gonna break my heart into two
Should’ve known better
Then to mess with somebody like you
Should’ve known better
That you were gonna break my heart into two

[Chorus]
Girl, you’re hurting me so bad
And that’s making me so sad
‘Cause I gave you everything I had
And girl, don’t you act all too glad
You really know how to make one mad
You really pushed my feeling and you know that
You can’t risk this
Your public image matters most of all
If you can’t love right
Then don’t love me at all

#2 – Lyrics for Love

By: Aniyis C.

Bright full moon glowing behind thick, dramatic clouds in a dark night sky. The moonlight creates a glowing halo effect as it breaks through the cloud cover, with faint silhouettes of tree branches visible at the bottom edge. The contrast between light and shadow gives the scene a mysterious and atmospheric mood.

Writer’s Note:

The genre is soul and i was inspired heavily by marvin gaye and my own experiences with my first love i hope you enjoy.

i wont cry no more now that your gone

ive shed a million tears since you left

but my tears will never be enough

i wont cry no more

i have to forget you darling

you know my heart knows you

a heart like mine is rare but i see it in you baby

if you looked into my tears you’d find a love letter for you

maybe we’ll meet down the line but it’s too late for you and me, much too late for you and i baby

god knows i tried

now i have to wish you a farewell, it was bittersweet

i told you i love you and smiled because you knew it was true

i must forget you baby, i must close the door cause you don’t love me anymore.

#3 – One More

By: Anna Marie

Moody song cover featuring a small wooden rowboat resting on a calm lake at night with a glowing lantern inside. A crescent moon hangs in a cloudy sky above a dark tree lined shoreline, and the title One More appears in soft script across the sky with the author name Anna Marie at the bottom. The peaceful night scene creates a reflective atmosphere that suggests a heartfelt or emotional story.

Writer’s Note:

This is a song I wrote about losing my uncle, but it can really relate to anyone losing someone.

*Verse 1*
I still see you in the crowded halls,
still can’t believe that you’re gone.
Every face seems so fimilar,
but none of the are yours.
Your voice stuck in my head
i wish i could hear it again.
Oh, what I would give,
to see you once more.

*Pre-Chorus*
Time ticks slower,
days seem longer,
my mind wanders,
and all i see is you and me.
Nights lose color,
days seem duller,
And i wish that i could
just, have,

*Chorus*
One more night, if you could see,
how lost i am without you here with me,
one more time, to set you free,
one more goodbye,
thats all,
I’d ever want it to be.

*Verse 2*
The days are just passing by,
I wish you were still by my side,
I can’t ever live without you,
I can’t go on like this,
I cry myself to sleep at night,
But tell my sister “I am fine”,
I am the shoulder she leans on,
But i can’t go on like this.

*Pre-Chorus*
Time ticks slower,
days seem longer,
my mind wanders,

and all i see is you and me.
Nights lose color,
days seem duller,
And i wish that i could
just, have,

*Chorus*
One more night, if you could see,
how lost i am without you here with me,
one more time, to set you free,
one more goodbye,
thats all,
I’d ever want it to be.

*Bridge*
one more time, one more life,
one more try, one more night,
just please dont go,
I’m begging please, i’m on my knees,
i need you here, so just don’t go,
i need you i want you and can’t live without you,
so ho-ld on to me,

*Chorus 2*(octave higher)
One more night, if you could see,
how broken hearts bleed eternally,
one more time, just you and me,
One more goodnight that all i ever want-

*instrumental*

*Chorus slowed*
One more night, if you could see,
how lost i am withough you here with me,
one more time, to set you free,
one more goodbye, thats all,
I ever want it,
to be.

*end*

#4 – Two Opposites

By: Arden Blackbird

Close up of two hands gently clasped against a clear blue sky, one hand wearing a delicate ring and the other a silver watch. The title Two Opposites appears in large white lettering above the hands, with the author name Arden Blackbird centered below. The simple background and intimate gesture highlight themes of connection and contrasting personalities coming together.

Writer’s Note:

This song is about when I had a best friend when throughout elementary, and as the years went on, we began to drift apart, but we were both complete opposites yet we got along as if those opposites didn’t matter (which they didn’t.)

[Verse 1]
The sun was out,
The wind was cool,
But we ran outside with our laughter loud,
And we acted like we made the rules.

[Pre Chorus]
We were so young,
Just two kids running in the woods,
We had so much fun,
And if the fall wind was cold we had our hoods.

[Chorus]
Two opposites, two best friends,
Even though we were different, we got along,
We explored all of the new trends,
Danced to every song,
And now we have a bond stronger than ever.

[Verse 2]
We had a few complications at times,
But we always saw past those,
And we laughed at each others rhymes,
That was our favorite past time we chose.

[Pre Chorus]
We were so young,
Just two kids running in the woods,
We had so much fun,
And if the fall wind was cold we had our hoods.

[Chorus]
Two opposites, two best friends,
Even though we were different, we got along,
We explored all of the new trends,
Danced to every song,
And now we have a bond stronger than ever.

[Outro]
Now we’ve grown apart,
But I remember you fondly,
And I’m glad our friendship gave us new stories to start,
That’s why I still remember you fondly.

#5 – Binary Code

By: Arden Eve

Song cover featuring a rainy city street at night lined with tall skyscrapers and glowing streetlights reflected on wet pavement. Red traffic lights and car taillights stand out against the dark, moody urban scene. The title Binary Code appears in bold white lettering at the top with the author name Arden Eve at the bottom, suggesting a tech themed or suspenseful story set in a modern city.

Writer’s Note:

This song is about how I was stuck in a “sorrow-loop” after my best friend cut all contact off once I went from in-person school to online school. It had made me wonder if what we had was only a joke to him or if he was hurt.

[Verse 1]
I’m fair skin and freckles, a dark brown pixie cut
You’re tan and curly black hair, eyes like coffee in a cup
Total opposites on the surface, but underneath, a matching set
Two halves of one whole, a binary code I haven’t cracked yet
Now I’m walking through my house and the air feels thin
I turn around and see the ghost of where you’ve been

[Pre-Chorus]
You held my hand through Harsha, those five days in Terre Haute
You were the anchor keeping my heavy heart afloat
You stopped my self-destruction, kept the blade from the skin
But now the silence is the loudest room I’ve ever been in

[Chorus]
If this was all a game, Dean, then you played it to win
My nervous system’s screaming, “Where do I begin?”
We were cuddling on the sectional, Haunted Hotel on the screen
Now I’m blinking twice just to see if you’re still in the scene
Was I just a temporary fix? A level you

passed through?
Because I’m still playing Connect Four with a version of you

[Verse 2]
My parents teased I loved you, and God, they were right
Now I’m over-analyzing every single “goodnight”
Poppy Playtime Chapter 4, you were tucked into my side
Tell me, when did “forever” turn into “nowhere to hide”?
You fit with my family like a piece of a puzzle that’s lost
I’m calculating the friendship and choking on the cost

[Bridge]
Blue eyes, brown eyes
Fair skin, tan lines
You knew everything, now you’re a stranger in my mind
Did you mean it? Did you feel it? Or was I just a place to stay?
While I was building a home, you were just passing the day

[Outro]
Just static in the living room
Just an empty spot on the couch
If you can hear me, Dean…
Blink twice

#6 – Double Take

By: Arden Eve

Woman with long dark wavy hair standing with her back to the camera holding a bouquet of red roses against a light wall. Red script text at the top reads Double Take and the name Arden Eve appears in the corner, giving the image a soft romantic album cover feel.

Writer’s Note:

It’s about how I loved my best friend, and when he didn’t feel the same, I began to love myself instead of relying on others to love me.

[Verse 1]
We were 2:00 AM on the porch swing, just us two
I was reading all the chapters you never lived through
Best friends with a secret that I kept in my chest
While you were just looking for a place you could rest.
I saw a future in the way you laughed at my jokes
But the fire was only coming from my side of the smoke.

[Pre-Chorus]
I was waiting for a signal, a glitch in your eyes
Searching for a “we” in your “hello” and “goodbyes”
I lived for the crumbs, for the look in your stare
But I woke up and realized that nobody was there.

[Chorus]
So I’m taking my heart back off of your shelf
Turns out the love I was missing was just for myself
I don’t need you to blink, I don’t need you to stay
I’m the one I’ve been waiting for anyway.
Yeah, I loved you then and I love you still
But if you won’t choose me… then I know I will.
I’m doing a Double Take, finally seeing what’s real,
I’m the one who’s in charge of the way that I feel.

[Verse 2]
Now we walk through the halls and the air feels clear
The ghost of “what if” finally disappeared.
You’re still my person, but I’m my own hero now
I took the crown off your head and I put it on mine, somehow.
I don’t need a boy to tell me I’m gold
I’m a story that’s already better when told.

[Bridge]
I am the artist, I am the art
I’m the whole damn engine, not just a part!
I stopped looking for validation in your point of view
I found a version of me that doesn’t need you!

[Outro]
I know I will.
Blink twice if you’re proud of me
Actually, don’t bother…
I’m proud of me.

#7 – Right Here

By: Bryson S.

Song cover showing a couple standing hand in hand on a hill overlooking a glowing city at sunset, with pink and orange clouds filling the sky. The title Right Here appears in large neon style script at the top with the subtitle All I Need Is You beneath it, and a heart shape made of small lights glows in the sky. The warm city lights and intimate pose emphasize a love story centered on connection and devotion.

Writer’s Note:

this genre is a soft love song and it inspired me to write this because i love my girlfriend

Yeah
Uh

I wasn’t looking, then you walked in,
Changed my whole world with a small grin,
Now every song on the radio
Sound like you somehow, I don’t know.

We talk all night ‘bout nothing at all,
Laugh so hard we forget to stall,
Time move fast when I’m next to you,
Funny how the little things feel brand new.

I don’t need perfect, I don’t need fake,
Just the way you smile when you’re wide awake,
When the day get heavy and life ain’t fair,
I swear I feel lighter when you’re right there.

Hook:
If the world gets loud, if the lights go low,
I don’t need much, just you real close,
Through the ups, the downs, yeah we’ll figure it out,
As long as I got you, I’m good right now.

If my heart gets lost, you know where it’s been,
Every road I take somehow leads back in,
I don’t know the future, don’t need a plan,
All I know is I’m better where you stand.

Second verse, I see you in my dreams,
Simple moments turning memories,
Even on days when we don’t agree,
I still choose you, yeah, you still choose me.

You know my flaws, you know my fears,
Still you stay, still you here,
That’s real love, no need to pretend,
Not just a spark—this a fire that bends.

I don’t promise forever like I know it all,
But I promise effort when we rise or fall,
Hand in hand, yeah step by step,
Every breath with you feels like the best one yet.

Hook:
If the world gets loud, if the lights go low,
I don’t need much, just you real close,
Through the ups, the downs, yeah we’ll figure it out,
As long as I got you, I’m good right now.

Outro:
Yeah
If love’s a song, this my favorite part,
Every beat feel like your heart to my heart,
No big words, just something true—
I don’t need the world, long as I got you.

#8 – Senior and Freshman

By: Casper S.

Song cover featuring an empty high school classroom with rows of desks and sunlight streaming through large windows. A vinyl record graphic appears on the left, and a pink heart illustration sits on the right beside the title Senior and Freshman in bold red text. The classroom setting and romantic accents suggest a coming of age love story set in school.

Writer’s Note:

This song is about the time I had fallen for a Senior, but a lot of people didn’t like that. Writing songs has always been my passion.

Verse 1:
I still remember,
That sunny day in September,
You in your jeans, singing your song,
How I felt my chest flutter at the lyrics in that song.

Pre-chorus:
I admired you in every light,
No, that feeling never took flight,
I check my pulse to see if I’m alive,
Yeah, I’m still alive.
This all feels like a dream to me.

Chorus:
Senior and Freshman
Odd match, they had said,
Said you’d leave me on your graduate reception,
But I didn’t let them get to my head.
I loved you for who you were,
The feeling like poison in my veins,
Our memories never seemed to blur,
Our hopes soared higher than the planes.

Verse 2:
I stayed by your side,
Despite their annoyed sighs,

And now I look back on those days with a smile,
‘Cause we had everything we wanted for a while.

Pre-chorus:
I admired you in every light,
No, that feeling never took flight,
I check my pulse to see if I’m alive,
Yeah, I’m still alive.
This all feels like a dream to me.

Chorus:
Senior and Freshman
Odd match, they had said,
Said you’d leave me on your graduate reception,
But I didn’t let them get to my head.
I loved you for who you were,
The feeling like poison in my veins,
Our memories never seemed to blur,
Our hopes soared higher than the planes.

Outro:
Now your off to college,
So you can gain more knowledge,
While I stay here in high school,
Sometimes being away from you feels cruel.

Stylized illustration of a vintage blue classic car parked on a reflective surface under a large glowing full moon. Palm trees and a modern city skyline rise in the background, with neon lighting casting warm gold and teal highlights across the scene. By: Damian H.

Writer’s Note: None Available.

[Verse 1]
(2x) One day,

(2x) Why did I,
…ever saw you?
Now I…
…need
…you.

[Pre-Chorus]
Why did I see you?
I shouldn’t have this.
What is this feeling?
I never deserve this.
Why did I see you?
I shouldn’t have this.
What is this feeling?
I can’t live… without you.

[Chorus]
You’re the sunshine, and I’m the tree that is growing.
You’re the bee, and I’m the flower.
You’re the oxygen, and I’m the lungs.
All of these things can’t live without each other.
Just like me.

[Verse 2]
(2x) One day,
…we will be together. (Oh)
(2x) Didn’t know,
…that it would be hard to do. (It is)
(2x) Why did I,
…think it would be easy? (Has it?)
Now I…
…am
…nervous.

[Pre-Chorus]
Why did I see you?

I shouldn’t do this.

I never did this.
Why did I see you?
I shouldn’t be nervous.
What is this feeling?
I can’t live… without you.

[Chorus]
You’re the sunshine, and I’m the tree that is growing.
You’re the bee, and I’m the flower.

Just like me.
You’re the sunshine (The sunshine), and I’m the tree that is growing.
You’re the bee (The bee), and I’m the flower.
You’re the oxygen (The oxygen), and I’m the lungs.
All of these things can’t live without each other.
Just like me. (Just like me)

[Bridge]
You’re that light in the dark void in my heart.
You’re the angle (Angle) that I needed.
You’re the glasses for my blindness.
You’re, you’re (You’re), my everything!
Oh, Oh! (Oh, Oh!)
Oh, Oh. (Oh, Oh)
Oh, Oh! (Oh, Oh!)
Oh, Oh. (Oh)

[Ending]
This feeling isn’t what I know.
I thought keeping it away would go away.
I thought wrong. It didn’t go away.
It only made it stronger.
That strength, that feeling…
That I can’t live… with you.

#11 – I Would.

By: ERC

Collage of four moody indie album cover concepts showing lyric sheets titled “I Would” on a bed beside an acoustic guitar in warm sunset light.

Writer’s Note:

Genre: Indie

It has a lot of background and hidden meaning that only I understand, but I hope it still brings out the message and the same feeling. At the time, making this, it felt more like a lifesaver than a song that I just came up with for fun. This is a song that I haven’t shown ANYONE, and songs like this I keep to myself, not even the one this song is for heard it, but I think it’s time to share at least a piece of it, cause I want other people to have the same healing feeling I did.

I think I lost it again

Cause my mind is on a roller coaster, trying to pretend,

I think about all my friends, oh

Cause they worry that my mental health is not my demand,

How could I think about ya?

Luckily, I care about ya,

Wouldn’t want to be there without ya

I’m the only one who thinks about you

Man, Well it’s not the same

When you’re leaving

/How could I pretend I’m not with you, love?

I’m bound to you, and I’m haunted by you

Time could bruise, but it’s healed by your love

If I could relive it, I would

#12 – Shatter

By: Giselle V.

Close up of a translucent blue heart shaped water droplet floating against a soft blue background with small air bubbles rising around it. The word Busted appears embedded across the center of the heart giving the image a dramatic and symbolic feel.

Writer’s Note:

This song genre is Dream pop, giving a hauntingly tender vibe. What inspired me was a book that I have read, not only that, but Dreams by Lisa also inspired me.

[verse 1]
That day, you said you loved me on the beach.
I move like the water, but now everything’s drowning me.
You said that you love me, but you broke my heart
Now my heart is like a glass

[Pre-Chorus]
My heart shattered. Now it doesn’t matter, you are just awful bittersweet
I guess I don’t matter to you anymore. I was nobody for you
I’ll just wash off my pains, but every time you’re with someone
Every love drops only deeper and pain, but the water washes off my pain

[Chorus]
You don’t care, baby. I loved you every time
What happened to us?
I guess you don’t care, baby.
You come through the peace, move forward.

[outro]
My chest grew louder, our love was so strong
But now it’s shattered, at least I can wash off the piece of my pain
My love speed drops in tears of water, not for you
But what you said, it’s no game
The water I’ll pour my heart
Now I’m so loved and strong
Why did you come towards me?
Don’t you know I have a heart like a glass, oh baby?

#13 – My Girl

By: Husk

Collage of four love themed graphics including a heart shaped photo of a couple indoors outlined in neon pink and blue light effects. A black heart with the word Her in white text and red doodle hearts appears beside red and pink heart illustrations including one labeled Warning and a brown hand gesture forming a heart shape. The overall image has a romantic and edgy aesthetic with bold colors and glowing accents.

Writer’s Note:

The inspiration of this is my girlfriend she means so much to me and I would do anything for her and the genre is kind of pop/rap

yeah we all caught up in the vibe late nights city lights we ride

My girl by my side we ain’t tryna hide

chasing dreams while the world collides

pull up In a whip got that bass on blast

Yea she  with me living fast never last

got the skyline glowin

feel that rush in our veins

we ain’t worried bout the past

whispers in the dark secrets that we share every little moment yea you know I care

we painting pictures brush strokes of our time every heartbeat steady like our rhythm in the rhyme

sippin on that liquid courage feels like the heat arise she got that look yea it lights up the skies

we dancing on the rooftops nothings out of reach in this moment we both know its all we gotta teach

stars above us flicker like our hearts on fire living for the thrill yea we just get higher with every beat drop we lose ourselves for a while

oh her laughter echoes yea it makes me smile so hold me close don’t let go in this moment we just let it flow we’ll ride this wave never drown she’s got my back yea we own this town

yea caught up in the vibe we’ll forever thrive shes always in my heart cause with you I come alive there’s a magic in the nights when our souls collide living for the moment baby lets enjoy the ride

#14 – Maybe This Is All I Know

By: Itatii V.

A single red rose lies on wet pavement partially submerged in a rain puddle as circular ripples spread across the dark water. The muted gray tones and steady raindrops create a somber and reflective mood, emphasizing themes of love and loss.

Writer’s Note: None Available.

Verse 1
You found me when I wasn’t ready
But somehow you stayed
You were always there for me
When I needed you the most

You made everything feel lighter
Just by being close
You made me feel okay
Like I didn’t have to change

You said my kind of weird was fine
And I never felt ashamed

Verse 2
Now you’re gone
Now she’s in your arms
And I don’t know where to put
All the pieces of my heart

Maybe it was me
Maybe I did something wrong
Maybe I let you slip away
And now you’re moving on

Chorus
I hope you’re doing well
I hope you’re happy with her
I’m trying, I’m trying
But this love still hurts

I keep coming back to you
No matter what I do
You’re still inside my heart
Even if we’re through

Outro
Maybe this is all I know…
Loving you.
And I’m never gonna let you go..

#15 – At Last

By: Kaylee V.

Silhouetted couple standing in heavy rain with one person lifting the other’s hand in a joyful pose as water splashes around their feet. Large faded text reading At Last overlays the scene, reinforcing a romantic and triumphant mood.

Writer’s Note:

This song is supposed to be R&B, showcasing gentle vibes and heartfelt emotions. this inspired by my experience of falling in love with someone special and my journey of self-growth. I’ve also listened to Keshi, an American songwriter, and felt a connection to some of his songs. The person I wrote about, and I often listen to his songs, which inspired me.

[Verse 1]
We used to sit down together
listen to the melodies of the songs
singing together, we are so distant now
But I keep telling myself that we are still so strong
What if I’m wrong

[Pre-Chorus]
You are the key to my heart; all I need is you
Maybe we are so young with pure love
I can assure you, I was in love you said
If we ever encounter again, I said it
would be up to the future

[Chorus]
We used to laugh and shine like the daffodils
When the waves hit, I will know we were meant
to be, I love you in every universe, we both
don’t know what happen was it you or me
Although we only shared a friendship
We grew stronger together, you
pulled my heartstrings

[verse 2]
Although it’s too late all wait
I’m like the clouds raining while listening
to these songs like the clouds storming while writing these lyrics
our love is like sweet heart candy

[Pre- Chorus]
You are the key to my heart; all I need is you
Maybe we are so young with pure love
I can assure you, I was in love you said
If we ever encounter again, I said it
would be up to the future

[Chorus]
We used to laugh and shine like the daffodils
When the waves hit, I will know we were meant
to be, I love you in every universe, we both
don’t know what happen was it you or me
Although we only shared a friendship
We grew stronger together, you
pulled my heartstrings

[bridge]
our memories
our memories
our memories
I will always cherish

[Ending]
I can stop chasing you now, let you go
So I can stop being the clouds that rain every night
As now I know (I know) that we shared memories
that will never disappear ahh

#16 – Still My People

Verse 1
We were ridin’ through the highs, through the lows,
Laughin’ like the world was ours to hold.
Now the road got quiet, and the nights feel cold,
But the memories still shine like gold.

Hook
’Cause you were my day one, my heartbeat crew,
Even if we drift, I still root for you.
Love don’t fade, it just changes view —
Friends forever, even if we’re through.

Verse 2
We had dreams that we swore we’d chase someday,
Life got loud and we went our separate ways.
But if you ever call, I’ll be on my way,
Some bonds don’t break, they just bend and sway.

Bridge
Maybe time just needed space to breathe,
Maybe we grew into who we’re meant to be.
But no matter where your footsteps lead,
You got a piece of my history.

Ending
So here’s to the laughs and the lessons too,
To the chapters closed and the ones we outgrew.
If our paths cross again, I’ll welcome you —
’Cause real ones stay real, no matter what they go through.

#17 – Untitled

By: Kenji V.

Snow covered yard at dusk with bare trees and power lines silhouetted against a fading blue and orange sunset sky. Purple text across the center reads Gotta Match your vibe with two pink heart graphics and a smiling face with star eyes emoji layered over the winter scene.

Writer’s Note:

This is a love pop song and this was based off feeling like you like this girl and she is very pretty and you want to match her vibe so she sees you too after you longed for this girl for a long time.

Verse1:

your the pretties sky I’ve ever seen. I don’t think there anyone like you girl. Your the one who got caught in my day dreaming. I don’t know what to do ’bout you now. I just wanna be with you till the day starts over again and again babe. I don’t know what to say.

Chorus:

baby please don’t go away. I want you right now. I just think your so pretty. I want your love now. Just gotta go with you gotta move with you. gotta match your vibe. I just love you girl. I don’t know what else.

Hook:

i just wanna be the only one you see dont hang me around now. I just wanna be with you till the day comes back around town. I just want to be the only one for you so i can loving you with no thoughts. Cause I still love you and you know I do I just wanna kiss you.

Verse 2:

yea you’re the light of my days. I know you know but I just care for you girl. I just wanna sing for you. Cause your the only thing see baby. gotta move with the vibe you got baby. Gotta sing with you every time we talk. i know you know I gotta be with you till that day comes.

(Repeat chorus after verse 2)

#18 – Untitled

By: Lena A.

Illustrated emo style cartoon couple sitting on the ground with the girl hugging the boy from behind while he holds a red and blue soda cup. Both characters wear black and punk inspired outfits with chunky shoes and edgy accessories, and the drawing has a sketchy hand drawn look with a small artist signature in the corner.

Writer’s Note:

This love song is an emo love song, I kinda related it to I love your existence by GOOT. I’ve really been into the rock love songs.

I knew I was insecure, broken by the other girls.

who left me behind, (who left me behind) broken and bruised

My heart ached, thought I was done for.

Then I saw her…

She saw me on the ground, heartbroken.

She could have left me there broken

But she didn’t, She looked into my eyes, seeing the heartbreak

Then like an angel heaven sent, she wrapped her wings around my broken heart.

She held me even I my darkest days, fixing what she didn’t break, She is my guardian angel…

#19 – When the Chords Don’t Stop

By: Liam M.

Song cover featuring a cozy bedroom corner lit by warm string lights draped across the wall. An electric guitar leans against the wall beside a neatly made bed, where a spiral notebook and tambourine rest on the dark comforter. The title When the Chords Don’t Stop appears in soft lettering at the bottom, setting a reflective mood centered around music and creativity.

Writer’s Note:

For me, love shows up in a lot of different ways, and sometimes it shows up in one person who changes the way your whole world sounds. “When the Chords Don’t Stop” is about that kind of love—the kind that sticks with you like a melody you can’t shake. It’s inspired by someone really close to me, someone who makes everything feel louder, brighter, and a little more like home, even on the quiet days… I wanted it to feel honest, nostalgic, and true to what love has been for me lately. Hope you guys enjoy 🙂

Genre: Emo Rock
Inspiration: Someone who makes my world feel different in the best way.

Verse 1
I’ve been stuck inside this room with all the lights half-dead,
Old posters peeling off like the thoughts inside my head.
Your voice still lingers in the hum of my amp,
Soft and steady like the comfort I never knew I’d get.

Pre‑Chorus
And every time I try to tune you out,
Another moment cuts back in too loud.
It’s in the way you talk, the way you breathe,
The way you show up without trying to leave.
I swear I’m fine, but the truth slips through—
Everything feels different when it’s tied to you.

Chorus
When the chords don’t stop and the night won’t end,
I hear your laugh in the static again.
You’re the echo in the walls that I can’t outrun,
The song in my chest that keeps coming undone.
I keep playing through the ache, pretending it’s enough—
But it’s you in the noise when the chords don’t stop.

Verse 2
I still wear the bracelet you tied on my wrist one day,
Funny how something small can keep the world in place.
I try to write it out, but the words fall flat,
Like a love note, I’m scared to say out loud just yet.

Pre‑Chorus
And every time I think I’m letting go,
Another line hits hard, and it starts to show.
It’s in the quiet nights and the crowded rooms,
In the way my heartbeat shifts toward you.
I tell myself it’s nothing, but that’s a lie—
You’re the reason these chords never really die.

Bridge
Maybe I’m just wired wrong,
Or maybe you were right all along—
Love’s a tune that never fades,
Even when the record breaks.

Final Chorus
When the chords don’t stop, and I’m losing sleep,
You’re the pulse in the dark underneath my feet.
You’re the line in the verse that I can’t rewrite,
The reason my hands keep shaking tonight.
I keep playing through the ache, pretending it’s enough—
But it’s you in the noise when the chords don’t stop.

#20 – Sick for Your Love

By: Logan M.

Blurred graphic with large white overlay text that reads IMAGE BLURRED and smaller text stating Graphic content has been blurred for community safety. Behind the blur effect a dark design with a red heart shape and the faint title Twisted Love is partially visible in the background.

Writer’s Note:

This song is a Metal type of song, the passing of my dog is what has made me want to make music and this song is my first piece. Thank you.

Content Note:

This piece explores themes of emotional distress and intense attachment. Some imagery may feel heavy for readers sensitive to mental health themes.

I’m choking—
on syllables I never learned to breathe
Pulse check, heart wreck, static underneath
Fists tight, jaw locked, venom in my tone
Built myself a prison, called the damage “home”

I fracture when I feel too much inside
Every thought collides—chemical divide
Then you step through the noise like a glitch in the pain
Say you know my disorder—and you stay the same

Count it—
One for the fear
Two for the lies
Three for the nights
I don’t survive
But you—
You don’t look away

I’m sick with your love, yeah it burns through my veins
You’re the calm in the chaos, the pleasure and pain
If I’m losing control, if I’m tearing apart
You’re the bruise that feels like home in my heart
I don’t need to be saved—I just need you close
In a world full of ghosts, you’re the one I chose

Skin deep—no, this goes bone-deep
Self split, tongue tied, secrets I don’t keep
I sabotage touch like it’s a loaded threat
But you pull me in closer like you’re placing a bet

I spiral, I twitch, I second-guess my name
Mirror talks back but it don’t look the same
You trace every crack like a map of my head
Say, “You’re not broken—you’re bent instead.”

I’m a symptom
I’m a disease
I’m the truth
I don’t believe
But you—
You believe in me

I’m sick with your love, yeah it poisons me sweet
You’re the rhythm that steadies my staggered heartbeat
If I’m losing control, if I’m falling apart
You’re the bruise that feels like home in my heart
I don’t need to be fixed, I don’t need to be whole
I just need your voice when I’m losing control

Cold steel spine
Hardwired mind
Shock me alive—
You’re my powerline

Crash
Burn
Reset
Repeat
You plug into me when I’m obsolete

Push it—
Pull me back
Break me—
Fix the crack
Shock it—
Make it move
I don’t function without you

HIT—ME—WITH—TRUTH
HOLD—ME—THROUGH—YOU
I’m not clean
I’m not safe
I’m still yours
ANYWAY

I’m sick with your love and I don’t want a cure
Every fault, every fracture—you see me pure
If the world caves in, if it tears me apart
You’re the fire in the dark of my heart
I don’t need to be saved, I don’t need control
I just need you here when I’m losing my soul

In the noise
In the pain
In the circuit, in the rain
I short out
I fall apart
You restart my heart

#21 – Love Is a Wicked Thing

By: Nathan T.

Dark moody scene of a hooded figure standing alone in a rain soaked alley at night with red neon light reflecting on the wet pavement. Large bold text at the top reads Love Is A Wicked Thing and a vertical neon sign glowing red adds to the dramatic and suspenseful atmosphere.

Writer’s Note: None Available

(Verse 1)
The night is cold where your warmth used to be,
Echoes of laughter still haunting me.
Promises whispered, now lost in the rain,
Every memory cuts like a chain.

(Pre-Chorus)
I gave my heart, thought it was safe,
But love’s a thief that hides its face.

(Chorus)
Love is an evil thing that brings you to your knees,
Takes your breath, your soul, your peace.
I thought our love would last forever,
That we would never sever.
But love takes and never gives back,
Leaves you broken on a one-way track.
Love is a wicked thing,
A cruel, wet flame that stings.

(Verse 2)
The silence screams where your voice once sang,
Every goodbye still leaves a fang.
I built my world on fragile dreams,
Now it’s falling apart at the seams.

(Pre-Chorus)
I reached for light, but found the dark,
Love lit the fuse and left the spark.

(Chorus)
Love is an evil thing that brings you to your knees,
Takes your breath, your soul, your peace.
I thought our love would last forever,

That we would never sever.
But love takes and never gives back,
Leaves you broken on a one-way track.
Love is a wicked thing,
A cruel, wet flame that stings.

(Bridge)
It whispers sweet, then turns to lies,
Builds you up just to watch you die.
Every kiss a curse in disguise,
Every tear a truth that never dries.

(Chorus)
Love is an evil thing that brings you to your knees,
Takes your breath, your soul, your peace.
I thought our love would last forever,
That we would never sever.
But love takes and never gives back,
Leaves you broken on a one-way track.
Love is a wicked thing,
A cruel, wet flame that stings.

(Outro)
Now I stand in the ashes of what used to be,
Love’s cruel ghost still haunting me.
Love is a wicked thing,
And it brought me to my knees.

#22 – Unbreakable

By: ROSE RIOT

Blue sky with soft white clouds and faint iridescent bubbles floating around a large black butterfly silhouette centered in the image. Bold white text across the top reads Unbreakable and the name Rosie Riot appears in small text at the bottom, creating an uplifting and resilient visual theme.

Writer’s Note:

Me and a few friends have decided to create a C-pop band (even though we’re American) and since I’m the lyricist, I thought this would be a good song to start off with. The translations to the Chinese parts will look like this: 我不再害怕 (I’m no longer afraid). Hope you like it and let me know what u think!!!

[Verse 1]
Everyone I loved had betrayed me, scaring me,
Locked in a cage of the things that I used to be.
I was a scholar of the lies, analyzing every breath,
Waiting for a “promise” to be followed by a theft.
Even my own home felt like a battlefield,
Always wondering when the truth would be revealed.

[Pre-Chorus]
I’m done reading into the shadows,
我不再害怕 (I’m no longer afraid)
I’m done drowning in the shallows.

[Chorus]
Now I’m unbreakable, watch the light break through,
我变得更强大 (I have become stronger)
Every word you say, I’m over-analyzing you.
I’m the fire, I’m the flame, I’m the storm in the sky,
这就是我的生活 (This is my life)
And I’m never gonna look back, never gonna cry.

[Verse 2]
I used to hold a magnifying glass to every “friend,”
Calculating exactly how the story’s gonna end.

If they smiled too bright, I’d look for the hidden blade,
Terrified of the ghosts and the debts that weren’t paid.
I even looked at my own blood and saw a traitor’s face,
Searching for a lie in every family embrace.

[Rap Verse / Bridge]
Check the frequency, I’m changing the station,
Tired of the mental investigation.
Every “trust me” felt like a set-up, a trap,
Now I’m redrawing the lines on my own map.
You talk, I listen, but I don’t dissect,
I’ve got a new shield that you can’t detect.
From the paranoia to the paradise,
I paid the heavy toll, yeah, I paid the price.
不再回头 (No more looking back)
这就是我 (This is who I am)

[Final Chorus]
Now I’m unbreakable, watch the light break through,
我变得更强大 (I’ve become stronger)
I’m an architect now, building something new.
I’m the fire, I’m the flame, I’m the storm in the sky,
这就是我的生活 (This is my life)
And I’m never gonna look back, never gonna cry.

#23 – Failed Falling in Love

By: Sienna D.

Red and black butterflies scattered across a warm brown background surround several small red hearts and one large cracked red heart at the center. The broken heart and fluttering butterflies create a visual contrast between love and heartbreak.

Writer’s Note:

I didn’t have time to draw a picture, but I will in the future. This song is basically about me falling out of love with someone and feeling like I failed. Also for the Lyrics for Love challenge! Hope you enjoyed it! >:D.

{Verse one}
I wonder what way it could’ve gone
If we just sat down and talked for a minute
I just want you to explain it.
My life tore at the seams
When you said you hated me
I fell from cloud 9
And somehow I still say I’m fine

{Chorus}
Am I failing love?
Because I don’t understand
Am I failing love?
Or am I just loving a man?
I Think I’m failing.
Think I’m falling
Out of love with you
Am I failing love?
Or falling out of love with you
Falling out of love with you

{Verse two)
I used to think
That love is so so pure
I used to wonder
Could we be more
And
What if my thoughts
Just messed it all up
Left in the back
Of your truck
I think I’m failing love with you

{Chorus-reverb}
Am I failing that love with you
I don’t understand
Am I failing love?

Or just lovin’ a man?
Think I’m failing.
Think I’m falling.

Out of love with you
Am I failing love?
Or falling out of love with you
Oh oh
Falling out of love with you

{Bridge}
You always said
Don’t worry bout it
You crushed my heart
You wish we never met
I wish we would
But I dunno
‘cause I dunno
{Chorus}
Am I failing love?
Because I don’t understand
Am I failing love?
Or am I just loving a man?
I think I’m failing.
Think I’m falling
Out of love with you
Am I failing love?
Or falling out of love with you
Falling out of love with you

{Outro}
I think I failed
Think I fell
Out of love with you
Out of love with you

#24 – Love you more

By: Skye

Writer’s Note:

The genre is sort of dark pop, with a heavier beat, with a bit of rap in it, but it becomes softer when it reaches the second chorus. It’s based on my best friend and her lover. It’s supposed to be sung by two people, the first singing to the second chorus, and the second chorus and beyond being sung by another. Finally, the reverb is sung by both, interchanging between the rap and singing parts.

{Hook}
Love *glitch* Love love you more (x2)

{Intro}
Said I’d never love again
Then I saw your wide eyes
Prettiest girl I’ve met
Swore My love was dead-
Saw your long hair,
Love’s not gone yet

{Pre-chorus}
Cause once upon a time
I saw an angel~
Once upon a time
I saw you~ ooo~
Once upon a time
You said
I, Love. You.
And I say back

{Chorus}
Love you more.
My angel, sure.
Love you more.
And your eyes for sure
I want you to be
The one I see in my dreams
Want you to be
The other half of me

{Verse one}
-rap-
Once upon a time
I swore I lied
Left love in the dust
Then saw your hazel eyes
Once upon a time
I said I wouldn’t
But I can’t ever say no to you

{Chorus}
Love you more.

My angel sure.
Love you more.
And your eyes for sure
I want you to be
The one I see in my dreams
Want you to be
The other half of me

{Verse two}
To this day
I swear I do
Those two words
One day,
I hope I’ll say to you-
Now I swear
I love you.
And that one,
I won’t take back

{Chorus}
Love you more.
My angel, sure.
Love you more.
And your eyes for sure
I want you to be
The one I see in my dreams
Want you to be
The other half of me

{Chorus-reverb}
Love you more
*rap* And you to the star
*sang* Hold you close
*rap* Hope we’re never apart
*sang* My darling girl
*rap* I want you to be*
*sang* The one I see in my dreams
Want you to be the other half of me

{Outro}
Want you to be~
Mine

#25 – Eyes closed

By: Skye

A pair of clear eyeglasses rests on a light wooden surface with soft cool toned lighting. Faint overlay text reads Eyes Closed, adding a reflective and introspective mood to the minimal composition.

Writer’s Note:

Oops, I did it again. Ha. Okay, wrote a healing love- sorta- song. I honestly got this idea from past crushes, and also hating looking in the mirror for a time. The idea, in simpler words, was from one of my past crushes (Now my boy bsf), teaching me that I wasn’t as horrible as I thought. Anyways, hope you enjoy!

{Intro}
*spoken* Keep your eyes closed, alright?
*sang* Snowflakes in your hair
Your soft hands, brushing them off from there
Maybe I should be more aware.
Oh oh~
What if I lied when I told you
I’d never fallen in love
before you.

{Pre-chorus}
Because I-

{Chorus}
Have my eyes closed.
And yours are open,
Held my heart close.
To not feel so broken
You said I could
Open my eyes again.
I followed you
And those icy eyes I met.
scared me, so I fret
and close my eyes again.

{Verse one}
Fallen snowflakes
On your lashes
Send my life into flashes
wondering if I’ll ever get it back
Two days turn into two years
Wondering if my fears
Are still on the otherside
of my eyes.

{Pre-chorus}
Because I-

{Chorus}
Have my eyes closed.
And yours are open,
Held my heart close.
To not feel so broken
You said I could
Open my eyes again.
I followed you
And those icy eyes I met.
scared me, so I fret
and close my eyes again.

{Verse two}
I felt like I was falling down
promised I was fine
You simply held my hand
And whispered
“Open your eyes.”
Eyes closed
Don’t know
If I can do this
Eyes open
I see you
Perfect in ways I can’t imagine.

{Pre-chorus}
Because I-

{Chorus-reverb}
See you
Eyes wide open
Love you
Heart in your hands
Your promise isn’t broken
Cause now~
My eyes are wide open~ *highnote*
And I see you
You don’t scare me anymore.
-end-

#26 – Glide and Glow

By: Sinclair

City skyline at dusk with glowing office lights and a mountain topped with a lit tower rising above the buildings under a deep blue evening sky. White text reads Glide and Glow with the artist name Sinclair at the top, giving the image a polished album cover aesthetic.

Writer’s Note:

This song is about chasing my dreams (going to LA, seeing Seoul, ice skating) and, yes, it is meant to be a K-Pop song. There are English translations on the rap verse for those who don’t know how to read Korean. Hope you enjoy!!!

[Intro]
LA to Seoul…
From the frost to the light.
Let’s go.

[Verse 1]
Early morning, 4 AM on the rink
Silver blades, I don’t even have to think
Carving lines in the quiet and the cold
But there’s a story that hasn’t been told
I’m looking past the glass, past the Hollywood sign
Waiting for the moment that I finally shine.

[Pre-Chorus]
Counting down the hours, watching the sunset glow
Trading the winter for the Hollywood show
Packing for a trip to Seoul
That’s where I know I don’t have to play an unfair role.

[Chorus]
Higher than the stars above the city lights
Finally, the girl who’s conquerin’ the heights
I’m not just a singer, but a soul set free
The best version of the girl I was meant to be
Oh-oh, I’m finding my home
Oh-oh, I’m never alone (On the stage, yeah!)

[Rap Verse]
Yo, itinerary 확인해봐, 난 그냥 지나가는 중이야
인천공항 도착, skies a different shade of blue
오래 머물진 않아, just a temporary stay
떠나기 전에 홍대 vibe, 느껴봐 right now
길거리 Tteokbokki, steam in the air
거울 속에 new girl, see her standing there
난 visitor, 꿈꾸는 dreamer, 빛을 배우는 학생
이 에너지를 담아 reach my future heights
서울의 rhythm, 집으로 가져가
A spark for my soul, while I’m out on the roam
일주일 후면 다시 비행기를 타겠지만
돌아가는 나는 won’t ever be the same.

[Bridge]
I used to glide in circles, trapped on the ice
But now I’m breaking the ceiling, whatever the price
From the rink to the stage, the transformation’s complete
Listen to my voice, hear the heart in the beat!

[Final Chorus]
Higher than the stars above the city lights
Finally, the girl who’s conquerin’ the heights
I’m not just a singer, but a soul set free
The best version of the girl I was meant to be

[Outro]
LA to Seoul…
Just a visit, but a lifetime of light.
My stage. My home.
(I’m gliding on the exciting light…)

*(Rap Verse translation)

Yo, check the itinerary, yeah, I’m just passing through
Touching down at Incheon, skies a different shade of blue
Not staying for the long haul, just a temporary stay
Catching the vibe of Hongdae before I fly away
Eating Tteokbokki on the street, steam in the air
Looking in the mirror, see a new girl there
I’m a visitor, a dreamer, a student of the lights
Taking all this energy to reach my future heights
Seoul’s got the rhythm that I’m bringing back home
A spark for my soul while I’m out on the roam
One week in the city, then I’m back on the plane
But the girl who’s returning won’t ever be the same.

#27 – Linton to LA

By: Sinclair

Palm lined street at sunset in Los Angeles with cars driving beneath a pink and orange sky fading into dusk. Large soft pink text reads Linton To LA and the name Sinclair appears in the corner, creating a vibrant West Coast inspired album cover look.

Writer’s Note:

This song is about losing a close friend that I had lost, but learning to turn the grief into something positive and becoming better for myself.

[Verse 1]
I still keep the things you left,
Your necklace, the socks, and your clay pot,
They’re heavy to hold but I can’t let them go,
‘Cause they’re the only “you” that I’ve got.
They said you were my obsession,
But you were just my friend,
They didn’t see the light you gave me,
Or the hole you left in the end.

[Pre-chorus]
Whenever I felt like a shadow in the room,
You always made me feel like a diamond,
Now when the walls start closing in,
I’m using your words to keep on shining.

[Chorus]
The memories cut just like broken glass,
And I’m tired of living in the shadows of the past,
I’ll miss you forever, but I choose to shine,
Taking the light you saw and making it mine.
I’m sweeping the pieces, I’m clearing the floor,
I won’t be the person I was anymore.
If I’m the star you promise, then I’ll find my way home,
I’m learning to glow even when I’m alone.

[Verse 2]
I still tend to play your favorite song on repeat,
Like your still here but your not,
Your voice is an echo on every street,
In every single corner of this spot.
Remember the ride to Sullivan?

Or the times you ever came over?
The crash of the ball, the smell of the sauce,
Before we looked over our shoulders.
I’d trade a thousand strikes today,
Just to have you here to hold her.

[Outro]
I’m sorry for every promise I broke,
It’s why I made our promises my own,
You said I was a star in the Indiana sky,
And I’m finally finding my way home.
I’m packing my bags for a dream in LA,
But Linton’s the place I’ll still call home.

(Yeah, you’re the place I’ll still call home…)

#28 – Shadow No More

By: Sinclair

Black and white photo of two people running hand in hand across a city street at night with motion blur adding movement and energy. Large iridescent purple text across the top reads Shadow No More and the name Sinclair appears in the bottom corner, giving the image a bold album cover style feel.

Writer’s Note:

This song is about the time I had fallen in love with someone who didn’t love me back, and once they removed themselves from my life, I moved on and began to love myself. I also believe that if anyone is dealing with a situation similar to this, that they will overcome this and they will realize that they don’t need someone else to love them, but they could love themselves instead 🙂

[VERSE 1]
I’m the shadow in the corner of your favorite room,
The one who picks the pieces up and clears away the gloom,
You’re crying over someone who forgot your middle name,
And I’m standing in the kitchen, just absorbing all the blame,
I’d bleach the sky to blue if yours was turning into grey,
Even if you never look my direction anyway.

[PRE-CHORUS]
I’m fine being the secret, I’m fine being the ghost,
As long as I’m the one who stays when you need it the most,
But the silence in my bedroom is starting to get loud,
I’m screaming out your name, but I’m just a face in the crowd,
Baby, I’m losing my mind without you, without you,
Yeah, I’m losing my mind without you.

[CHORUS]
Maybe, maybe I’m scared,
Maybe, maybe I’m obsessed,
Maybe, maybe I’m blessed,
Just to have you near.
Baby, baby don’t you cry,
Baby, baby I love you,
Baby, baby I’m gonna protect you,
Even if I’m not the one you want to hear.

[VERSE 2]
I’m cataloging whispers and the way you tilt your head,
I’m living on the scraps of every “hey” you ever said,
It’s a frantic kind of hunger, it’s a fever in my bones,
I’m checking every status just to feel less on my own,

I’d bleed myself to white just to give you back your glow,
I’m a ghost inside your hallway with nowhere left to go,
And I know I’m just a placeholder, a bandage for the tear,
But I’d settle for a haunting just to keep you standing here.

[BRIDGE]
Wait… I’m the one who’s holding up the ceiling while it breaks,
I’m the one who’s swallowing the poison for your sake,
But who’s catching me when I start to fall through the floor?
I’m tired of being the ghost, I’m tired of wanting more,
I’ve been protecting a heart that doesn’t even know my name,
And God, it’s tearing me apart to realize I’m the one to blame!
(Yeah, I’m the one to blame!)

[NEW CHORUS]
Maybe, maybe I was scared,
Maybe, maybe I was obsessed,
But maybe, maybe I’m blessed,
To finally see it clear!
Baby, baby I won’t cry,
Baby, baby I’ll love me,
Baby, baby I’m gonna protect me,
From the ghost that I’ve been living with for years!

[OUTRO]
I’m not losing my mind anymore.
(Without you)
I’m finally obsessed…
(With my own truth)
I’ll protect me.
I’m walking away.
(And I’m okay).

#30 – Struck

By: Husk.

Red sports car emerging through smoke with glowing blue headlights under bold graffiti text that reads STRUCK and dripping gold and black crowns flanking a white cross symbol.

Writer’s Note:

This is a upbeat hip-hop/rap vibe and once again its about my girlfriend. She’s my main inspiration for my music now and has been for 6 months. Without her my music wouldn’t be as “Happy” sounding.

I know how to fight, I can throw hands
but when you pulled up, baby I got love struck
Felt like a ton of bricks falling on my head
the love I got for you is so intense I can’t see past my heart
baby you struck me and it’s only the start
Walk into a room all I see is you
nobody in the world could phase me but I seen you and it was amazing
never wanna look at anyone else, you the only one on my mind
baby ain’t no other kind
You the only one I want other girls try and flaunt
but I got my girl with me all those girls trynna steal me ain’t got a chance

I know how to fight, I can throw hands
but when you pulled up, baby I got love struck
Felt like a ton of bricks falling on my head
the love I got for you is so intense I can’t see past my heart
baby you struck me and it’s only the start

If I had to pick or choose baby it would always be you
never gotta worry if I’m leaving cause I’m here to stay
baby I will never stray
you told me you used to pray
baby now I’m here and you don’t gotta worry
I’ll keep you safe and happy
cause when you struck my heart
baby you got all my love no cappin

#31 – Fly Far Finch

By: Tripp Y R

Writer’s Note:

Inspired by Noah Kahan, JVKE, and Alex Warren.

This song based on the overwhelming feeling of not being enough that I felt last year, me and my ex had just broken up, this was before me and my current partner got together, and for a good long while I felt like everything was falling apart, like nothing was right and like everything I did was wrong, it sucked.

(Verse 1)
They say time heals all wounds but I dont think Time is be able;
To make me feel alright and to make me feel stable,
So I wander around these 4 walls in my mind
The words scrawled along this room are anything but kind
So watch. Me. fall. A-part.
Dont turn away. As. you. De-part

(Chorus)
You said, “we are forever”! “We’ll never part”!
Then ripped those words right outta my beating heart!
You said “You are the only”, “We are one”
Then you turned your back as you flew into the sun!
So flew far away my finch
As I suffer from every inch!

(Verse 2)
You were beautiful and wonderful and everything I liked,
Every second spent with you was like my heart rate would spike,
So how do I; Say goodbye; to someone so perfect,
To push away a soul like you makes me feel like I’m a convict,
So lock me up, put me where I’m meant to be,
Yeah, take me in, lock the door, and throw away the key!

(Chorus)
You said, “we are forever”! “We’ll never part”!
Then ripped those words right outta my beating heart!
You said “You are the only”, “We are one”
Then you turned your back as you flew into the sun!
So flew far away my finch
As I suffer from every inch!

(Outro)
But now your gone, and I’m still stuck in a time,
When everything was beautiful and you were still mine,
Now, what can I do but let you go and move on,
Cuz someone like me aint where someone like you belongs
(End)
