Type:

full-time About the job We're looking for a Full Stack Roboticist to design and implement the control systems that make Physical AI practical and commercially viable through our humanoid robots. You will work alongside a tight-knit team that has been shipping units for the past year, pushing the limits of today's technology to bring humanoid robots to ever more businesses. About Feather Feather is a VC-backed startup assembling a world-class team to build general-purpose robots. While competitors pursue end-to-end integration, we are focused on creating the best labor platform on which others will build, monetize, and scale, fostering an ecosystem of solutions akin to Apple's or Nvidia's. We've moved through the hardware lifecycle at lightspeed -- building our first prototype in two months, fulfilling our first order in nine months (vs. 31 months for Figure), and working with a $4B revenue manufacturer. Our units are deployed across several fields today, including cooking, retail, manufacturing, and more. Responsibilities Develop, test, and tune low-level and high-level control algorithms for humanoid robots Implement real-time control strategies for locomotion, manipulation, and whole-body coordination Stress-test our system for edge cases and ensure reliability Collaborate with mechanical and AI engineers to integrate perception, planning, and control into a unified system Run experiments on hardware to evaluate performance, debug complex behaviors, and improve reliability What we're looking for Background in control theory, dynamics, calibration, sensor fusion, or classical methods Experience with one or more of: robot locomotion, manipulation, trajectory optimization, or whole-body control Ability to develop on modern infrastructure, e.g., ROS2, simulation, and similar tools Strong programming and debugging in Python, C++, and Rust Strong background in low-level systems (firmware, multiprocessing, operating systems) Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or a related field Why Join Us Own the whole tech stack and be one of the principal architects of our humanoid robot platform, instead of working on one small fragment of the problem. Shape the future of robotics and physical AI in a talented, driven team that values ownership, speed, and creativity We have the capital, the hardware ownership, and the generational upside to make this your life's work
