Your friends are on Tallo. Your college is on Tallo. Your future boss is probably on there, too. Now, you’re on Tallo, and you need a little help creating the perfect profile that you can share with your friends, show in your college admissions packet, bring to your big interview, or use to attract the people hiring for your dream job. These tips will help you build a 11/10 profile that does all that and more.
Creating the perfect profile on Tallo
Below, you’ll find an example of the profile and where you can brag about your accomplishments. We’ve broken down instructions into sections. Simply pick the section of your profile you want to enhance, and click the + sign. Remember, you don’t have to do everything at once, but the more you do, the more potential for matches you have.
1. Profile picture. This is your first impression, make it a good one! If you have pictures of you doing something you’re proud of, like receiving an award, performing in a play, or playing your favorite sport, that’s a great way to showcase what you love to do. Profiles with photos get more matches, hands down.
2. Bio. This could be the year you graduate, something that makes you unique (I built a telescope at 15), or any fact about yourself that makes you stand out.
3. Share Profile. Share your profile with a teacher, coach, or parent. They can provide good advice on what to add or remove from your profile to help you put your best foot forward.
4. Interests. Take the Career Assessment to get your Career Vibe and narrow down your interests. These interests can help you match with careers, occupations, and learning that are well-suited to you.
5. Education. Include details about your education experience, like where you went to high school or college, if you’re currently attending or graduated, your GPA, and your expected graduation date.
6. Test Scores. Here you can add in test scores like ACT or SAT, or other types of tests and quizzes.
7. Skills. List any skills that demonstrate your knowledge about things like industries, tools and technology, information, etc.
8. Work Experience. Outline your work experience; paid or unpaid responsibilities at home or in your community, and the skills you learned doing it. This is the place to brag about your internships, volunteering opportunities, or even a great babysitting gig that taught you a lot.
9. Accomplishments. If you’ve ever been recognized (think: MVP on your soccer team or CPR certification) or earned an award (like Dean’s List), this is where you can show off those wins.
10. Files. Here you can upload supporting documents. This could be a resumé, letter of recommendation, transcripts, or even an essay or poem you are proud of. Show off!

12. Explore. Your Explore Tab, located at the top of the page, will let you search for Jobs & Internships, Courses, and Scholarships.
13. Career Navigator. Dive into this comprehensive tool to explore over 900 career paths. Take the 60-question assessment to get personalized career matches, compare different careers side-by-side, and learn about the skills, education, and training needed for each path. Use the nationwide or location-specific data to make informed decisions about your future.
14. Community. Connect with peers, professionals, and educators in the Tallo Community. Engage in discussions, ask questions, and share experiences about colleges, careers, and more. This is your space to network, learn from others, and get insights that can shape your educational and career journey.
15. Preferences. Click this tab to switch over to Preferences. This section allows you to tailor your Tallo experience and the opportunities you receive.
16. Career Preferences. Specify the types of careers and industries you’re interested in, as well as your preferences for employer culture, work flexibility, and company size. This helps Tallo match you with relevant opportunities and content. You can select multiple options to keep your choices open or focus on specific areas you’re passionate about.
17. College Preferences. If you’re considering higher education, use this section to indicate the types of colleges or programs you’re interested in. You can specify factors like school type, school size, class flexibility (online, in-person, hybrid), campus type (urban, rural, suburban, town), specific majors or areas of study, and more. This information helps colleges find you and allows Tallo to suggest relevant educational opportunities.
18. Location Preferences. Already know where you want to live? That’s awesome, go ahead and choose a state (or a few!). This helps talent seekers (companies, colleges, organizations) match people with opportunities based on where they live or would like to live.
