How three students built real resume experience in just one week—and how you can too.
Most teenagers run into the same problem: you need experience to get a job, but you need a job to get experience.
That’s why we launched our first Mini Challenges in Tallo’s Art, Music, and Animals groups—to give students a chance to build real, resume-worthy credentials by doing what they already love: creating.

The result?
Three incredible submissions that proved what we already knew: when you give students a platform to show who they are (not just what job they want), they bring their best work.

“When You’re Gone”
by Erianna C. (ERC)
The challenge: Create an album cover that represents your sound
Erianna is new to Tallo, but when she saw the Music Challenge, she didn’t wait. As an aspiring singer-songwriter working on her debut album “When They Were Gone,” she created cover art that captures the raw emotion of being a teenager—the struggles, the discovery, the moments that are hard to explain.
Why this won:
Her album concept is inspired by a book she’s writing about two teenagers facing mental health challenges while discovering who they truly are. Through her art and music, she’s not just creating — she’s making a difference and connecting with others who feel the same way.

“Being featured feels incredible—it serves as a reminder that my creativity has a voice and a place in the world. I enjoyed the challenge because it allowed me to express myself freely and explore a concept in my own unique style… Creating this art has encouraged me to think creatively, meet deadlines, and express my ideas clearly—skills that directly relate to architecture. Architecture demands vision, communication, and problem-solving, and engaging in art helps me enhance all of these abilities as I learn to transform emotions and ideas into structure and design.” – Erianna C.
What Our Judges Said…

“The message that this artist is trying to get across with their album art lines up directly with how we want to support users on Tallo, through meaningful connection and community.”

“The artist’s theme of ‘teenagers who face deep mental struggles while trying to discover who they truly are’ is such a relatable theme, and I love that they are trying to help others not feel alone with this uplifting piece.”

“DJ Demon”
by AJ V.
The challenge: Create a monster version of a career you’re interested in
AJ transformed the career of a DJ into an electrifying cyberpunk demon that’s equal parts creative and technical. The neon look, lightning effects, and bold style show serious design chops—and prove that career exploration doesn’t have to be boring.
Why this won:
AJ took a familiar career and reimagined it with originality, energy, and technical skill. This is exactly the kind of creative thinking that stands out in portfolios and applications.

“Thank you so much for choosing my creation—it means a lot to me as I am an aspiring singer-songwriter and digital art maker mainly focused on designs that ‘come to life’ and show some emotions through the colors and elements used in the art ❤” – AJ V.
What Our Judges Said…

“I picked this design because it felt like the ultimate ‘monster DJ’—powerful, bold, and full of energy. The lightning and skull with headphones really capture that wild mix of creativity and chaos that comes with making music.”

“DJ Demon is such a creative mix of music and art. The neon lightning and skull design really stand out and capture the energy of being a DJ. It’s bold, unique, and I’d be proud to see something this cool on Tallo.com.”

“Coda”
by Autumn W.
The challenge: Create a Halloween-ready animal image
Autumn brought personality and Halloween spirit with this shot of an adorable (and slightly mischievous) husky.
Why this won:
Sometimes the best creative work doesn’t need to be complicated. Framing the shot just right can be enough, and Autumn totally submitted the right image for the right category!
What Our Judges Said…

“This image of this husky has great composition and its unique eyes make me think that it might have mysterious, spooky powers. Great share.”

“Those piercing husky eyes paired with perfect framing created exactly the kind of Halloween vibe we were looking for.”
