Job Description

Summary:
We are seeking dedicated and flexible individuals to serve as Substitute Paraprofessionals within our district. In this role, you will provide support to teachers and assist students in their learning environment. As a Substitute Paraprofessional, you will step in during the absence of regular staff, ensuring continuity of education and maintaining a positive and productive classroom atmosphere.
Responsibilities:
  • Assist classroom teachers in implementing lesson plans and instructional activities.
  • Support students with special needs, providing individualized attention and assistance.
  • Supervise students during classroom activities, lunch, recess, and transitions.
  • Help maintain a safe and orderly classroom environment.
  • Assist with the preparation of instructional materials and classroom resources.
  • Monitor student progress and behavior, providing feedback to the classroom teacher.
  • Follow school policies and procedures to ensure a positive learning experience.
  • Engage with students to encourage participation and foster a love for learning.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; some college coursework in education or related field preferred.
  • Previous experience working with children or in an educational setting is a plus.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to follow directions and adapt to various classroom environments.
  • Patience, flexibility, and a passion for supporting student learning.
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with educational technology.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Must pass background checks and meet district employment criteria.
