Job Overview Join our innovative injection molding manufacturing team as an Injection Molding / Automation Technician, where you will play a vital role in maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimizing automated production lines. This role is responsible for setting up, operating, maintaining, troubleshooting, and improving production equipment, automation systems, robots, and associated tooling. This position supports production goals by maximizing equipment uptime, ensuring product quality, reducing scrap, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. Responsibilities Set up molds, EOAT's, automation and production equipment according to production schedules. Start up, monitor, and optimize automated manufacturing processes. Troubleshoot equipment, automation systems, PLCs, robots, and peripheral equipment during production. Perform mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic repairs as needed. Identify, document, and resolve root causes of downtime, quality issues, and production interruptions. Program, modify, and troubleshoot PLC and robot applications. Perform shift preventive maintenance and support predictive maintenance activities. Prepare first-piece and last-piece samples for Quality verification. Monitor and record production data including uptime, downtime, scrap, cycle times, and process parameters. Design, fabricate, or modify fixtures and small mechanical components as required. Maintain and improve work cell organization in accordance with 5S standards. Support new equipment installation, integration, validation, and launch activities. Assist with continuous improvement projects focused on safety, quality, productivity, and cost reduction. Cover production support functions when required. Perform other duties as assigned. Functional Competencies Automated equipment setup and operation. Machine and mold setup. PLC troubleshooting and programming. Robot programming and troubleshooting. Industrial maintenance and repair. Root cause analysis and corrective action implementation. Continuous improvement methodologies. Technical Knowledge Plastic processing and injection molding preferred. Allen-Bradley, Beckhoff, or equivalent PLC systems. Industrial robots and automation equipment. Electrical and electro-mechanical systems. Blueprint and schematic reading. CAD software and technical drawings. Quality systems, SPC, and process controls. Material handling and lifting equipment. Safety systems including Lockout/Tagout and Hazard Communication. Pay:
$30.00 - $34.00 per hour
