Job Description

Category Therapy - Hospital - OT Job Type Contract Provide specialized outpatient occupational therapy services designed to help patients achieve a safe and effective return to community activities. This role involves evaluating patients, developing individualized treatment plans aligned with physician directives, and overseeing discipline-specific therapy services to ensure comprehensive care. You will also serve as an educator to patients, families, students, and team members, promoting professional standards while actively contributing to a culture of safety and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct comprehensive evaluations and develop/modulate treatment plans catering to patient needs and goals. Delegate and direct discipline-specific therapy services for assigned patients ensuring optimal care. Document patient progress clearly, including goal writing, assessment, letters of medical necessity, and charge entry per clinic and regulatory standards. Maintain adherence to patient safety protocols, including Safe Patient Handling and Infection Control practices. Participate in student education programs by providing supervision and evaluations. Commit to ongoing professional development and comply with regulatory licensure requirements. Support organizational performance improvement initiatives, offering feedback to enhance therapy services.
Qualifications:
Valid Occupational Therapy licensure in good standing. Knowledge of applicable State Practice Acts and regulatory requirements. Strong clinical reasoning and patient management skills. Ability to document effectively in compliance with federal, state, and clinic policies. Commitment to safety standards and ethical professional conduct. Experience in outpatient hospital therapy settings preferred. Willingness to engage in student mentorship and professional development.
