out of 5 stars 4202 East Fowler Ave, Tampa, FL 33620 The Florida Center for Emergency Medical Services (FL-CEMS) at the University of South Florida is seeking a dynamic and experienced Executive Director to lead and expand the Center’s portfolio. The Executive Director will have primary responsibility for all aspects of FL-CEMS, including day-to-day operations. The position will work closely with key stakeholders at the Florida Department of Health and require experience working with public and private sector stakeholders. The successful candidate will have experience administering multiple overlapping complex grants. This position plays a key role in fostering interdisciplinary collaboration and securing external funding. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong background in Public Administration and experience in EMS Administration.
RESEARCH
– This role supports the Florida Center for Emergency Medical Services through strategic planning to align with state health goals and by engaging stakeholders at university, local, state, regional, and national levels. It oversees operational development, monitoring service delivery, business practices, and implementing personnel and financial policies for long-term success. The position ensures the Center meets all deliverables under the Florida Department of Health-USF agreement, represents the Center at local and state events by coordinating logistics and stakeholder engagement, and manages the Center’s operations, including faculty oversight, recruitment, hiring, coaching, and performance management. Responsible to a Chair or other appropriate higher-level administrator of a State university. Responsible for teaching, research, service, and related administrative activities. Responsible for academic advising and related activities. May represent the university, college/school, or department. Doctoral degree from an accredited institution or the highest degree appropriate in the field of specialization with a demonstrated record of achievement in teaching, academic research, and service. Must meet university criteria for appointment to the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor. For Associate/Full Professor – Normally will have produced creative work, professional writing or research in refereed and other professional journals, and be a recognized authority in the field of specialization.
