Characteristics of Work Under the direction of the Children’sServices Director, the Assistant Children’s Services Director isresponsible for assisting in organizing, managing, and implementingactivities in the children’s services areas to include earlychildhood education, disabilities, health, and nutrition servicesin making sure they are effectively implemented and evaluated. Theincumbent will also assist in performing activities necessary tocontrol and coordinate all management and support activities of theChildren’s Services Programs. Qualifications A Master’s Degree inEarly Childhood Education or a related field; three years ofmanagement or administrative-level experience in Head Start or asimilar program; extensive knowledge of federal, state, and localresources; knowledge of financial practices and budgets; experienceworking with diverse populations, including low to moderate-incomefamilies; ability to handle confidential and some complex matters;experience in computer operations; and effective oral and writtencommunication skills.
