The following duties are normal for this position. The omission of specific statements of the duties does not exclude them from the classification if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment for this classification. Other duties may be required and assigned. Supervises, directs, and evaluates assigned staff, processing employee concerns and problems, directing work, counseling, disciplining, and completing employee performance appraisals. Coordinates daily work activities; organizes, prioritizes, and assigns work; develops work schedules to ensure adequate coverage; creates and distributes work schedules and assignments; approves leave time and reviews usage; monitors status of work in progress and inspects completed work; consults with assigned staff; assists with complex/problem situations; and provides technical expertise. Ensures integrity of data and information in Georgia Crime Information Center (GCIC) and National Crime Information Center (NCIC) and other department databases; corrects, modifies, restricts and deletes criminal history information; and monitors crime statistical reporting, fingerprint classification, identification and comparisons, and entry of information into networks. Serves as Central Administrator for records management system; provides administrative and technical assistance regarding storage and retrieval, policies and procedures and local, state and federal regulations; creates, modifies and deletes user accounts; and processes requests to delete, re-classify and modify information. GCIC/NCIC

Training Agency Coordinator for department; trains and certifies new and existing employees; receives and reviews training requests; schedules training; prepares training materials and conducts training; and maintains certification documentation. Interprets, applies, and ensures compliance with all applicable codes, laws, rules, regulations, standards, policies and procedures; provides information and clarification regarding the same to County staff and customers; and initiates any actions necessary to correct deviations or violations. Facilitates and/or attends meetings, as required to remain knowledgeable of departmental operations, to promote improved job performance, and to stay current with changing policies, procedures, codes, and records management and procedures. Prepares or completes various forms, reports, correspondence, calendar, training requests, work manual, performance appraisals, or other documents. Receives various forms, reports, UCR report, RMS/Fire/EMS report, monthly report, correspondence, policies, procedures, manuals, reference materials, or other documentation; reviews, completes, processes, forwards or retains as appropriate. Communicates with supervisor, other County departments and employees, the public, attorneys, outside agencies, and other individuals as needed to coordinate work activities, review status of work, exchange information, or resolve problems. Operates a personal computer to enter, retrieve, review or modify data, utilizing word processing, spreadsheet, database, presentation, Internet, e-mail, or other software; and operates general office or other equipment as necessary to complete essential functions.

Minimum Qualifications:

Associate’s degree in Business Administration, Criminal Justice or related field required; five years of experience in records management and processing to include lead or supervisory experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.

Specific License or Certification Required:

Must possess and maintain a valid Georgia driver’s license; must possess and maintain the following certifications: GPSTC (Georgia Public Safety Training Center) Instructor Training certification within six months of employment and Fingerprint Classification within nine months of employment.
