ABOUT IBERIA COMPREHENSIVE HEALTH CENTER

Iberia Comprehensive Community Health Center (ICCHC) and its satellite health centers are the leading providers of primary health care services in the communities we serve, including individuals who are both insured and uninsured. ICCHC provides multi-disciplinary, comprehensive health care services. Our front desk team are essential to patient care and play a significant role in assisting our patients. ICCHC is currently seeking a full time Front Desk Supervisor at our Surrey Street Community Health Center, in Lafayette, Louisiana.

GENERAL SUMMARY/ OVERVIEW STATEMENT

The Front Desk Supervisor is primarily responsible for ensuring front desk employees are greeting patients and visitors, determining their needs and directing them accordingly, answering telephone calls, scheduling appointments, and performing routine clerical tasks. This position is responsible for assisting with these duties as needed, providing 90-Day Reviews, Annual Reviews, and Disciplinary actions. The person in this position should have good written and oral communication skills in handling issues and concerns of staff and patients, operate within the guidelines established by Center policies and procedures, contribute to the budget by ensuring the proper use and maintenance of equipment and supplies to maintain its useful life and proper inventory in all areas of the front office, maintaining supply system and purchasing function.

QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION:

High School Graduate Required. Minimum of Diploma, Certificate or Associate Degree from approved Technical College or University with a concentration in Business, Healthcare, or related Field.

TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE

Successful employee should have one to four years on-the-job training and/or combination of on-the-job plus previous experience dealing with the public preferably in a healthcare environment. Person must have pleasant personality and clear voice and diction when dealing with public. Must possess interpersonal skills to communicate with all types of individuals and respond to their questions in a courteous and efficient manner.

JOB KNOWLEDGE

Employee needs a high level of quantitative skills. This person must have excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to learn medical terminology and coding procedures during on-the-job training. Proficiency in the use of personal computers is advantageous. Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to details. Working knowledge of software packages and applications used in physician billing and accounts receivable functions as well as appointment scheduling. S/He should have the ability to prioritize and organize work and work independently as well as schedule and produce work in a timely manner.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Work is primarily sedentary. Large amounts of time may be spent using a personal computer and multi-key telephone.
