JOB SUMMARY

The Patient Care Administrative NurseSupervisor is an experienced Registered Nurse and is responsiblefor supervising and monitoring the Nursing department(s) on anassigned shift in accordance with nursing standards and practicesas well as current Federal, State and local standards, guidelinesand regulations. This position ensures the appropriate delivery ofdirect and indirect patient care via the utilization of the NursingProcess and creates a positive environment for the professionalpractice of nursing. In addition, this position ensures activitiesfoster continuous quality improvement to enhance patient careoutcomes. This position also ensures patient flow throughout theorganization. This position provides leadership for multiplehospital departments in the absence of the unit manager, director,or administration. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Nursing(BSN) required; Master’s degree preferred 3 years of acute carecharge or supervisory experience required Progressive leadershipexperience Active Registered Nurse license from the State ofConnecticut required Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) providerand Certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) providercredentialed form the American Heart Association (AHA) requiredOther certifications may be required by specialty Knowledge, Skillsand Ability Requirements
