COMMUNICATIONS COORDINATOR JOB SUMMARY
We are seeking a Full-Time Administrative Communications Coordinator to oversee administration, communications and related activities
- 32 hours per week.
The ideal candidate will be able to communicate effectively with staff, vendors, church and lay leaders, the congregation and the community. You will be a liaison for the church staff, church leaders, members, visitors and vendors. The candidate will be respectful and kind, plus maintain a high level of confidentiality. You will have office administrative responsibilities with computer software knowledge, and social and digital media understanding. DUTIES
- Coordinate church-wide events with the church staff and committees regarding communications, publicity, information and registration.
- Assist church members and community organizations in need of information and material goods such as food or clothing.
- Answer phones, door buzzers, and emails.
- Write, assemble and distribute weekly bulletins and newsletters in print and on-line.
- Manage office supplies, kitchen supplies, janitorial supplies and other supplies as needed for efficient church operations.
- Manage mail
- review invoices / bills to assure the budget line item is correct.
- Maintain an updated church calendar and membership rolls.
- Maintain church records such as weekly Sunday service attendance, quarterly and annual reports.
COMPUTER COMMUNICATIONS KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
- Must possess a solid understanding of office computer software such as email and Microsoft Office modules.
- A general understanding, and the desire to learn, the management of social and digital media accounts / platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, YouTube and others.
- A creative ability to create flyers, mailers, reports and handouts for optimal communications is desirable.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Ability to communicate speaking clearly and effectively.
- Treat people with respect and uphold Christian organizational values.
- Must be an active listener, good communicator, display diplomacy and collaboration with all people.
- Understand general office computer systems, software applications and social media platforms.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
