PRIMARY FUNCTIONS
: Recruitment; Admission; Programmatic Support.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
: 1.
Recruitment:
The liaison shall gain and maintain familiarity with Point Park’s School of Education doctoral program and be able to help with various aspects of recruiting students into these programs. With respect to student recruitment efforts, the individual holding this position will engage in a variety of activities in coordination with the School of Education Dean, Associate Dean, Doctoral Program Director, and the Program Coordinator. Duties will include, but are not limited to, the following: collaborate with faculty in education programs to maintain current program knowledge, as well as gain training and knowledge of university and campus systems used for admissions, recruitment, and retention communicate with potential and actual applicants via phone/email and in-person; answer questions and provide accurate guidance to prospects/applicants. inform applicants and potential applicants regarding program options and application procedures. obtain email/prospect lists and performing outreach to prospective students via University electronic communication systems participate in informational and admission events where prospective students may be present assist faculty and the admissions offices with the evaluation of candidates during the admissions process and coordinate their transition to matriculated status maintain relationships with current post-baccalaureate and master’s degree students to enhance awareness of doctoral program opportunities at Point Park and encourage them to consider application for doctoral study collaborate with Enrollment Marketing on web site maintenance and student/faculty stories support the transition from admitted applicant to matriculant (active status) seek opportunities to participate in recruitment events regionally and beyond 2.
Admissions :
The liaison will facilitate the evaluation of candidates during the admissions process and coordinate their transition to matriculated status in various ways, including the following: work with the Director of Graduate Online Admissions to maintain productive contact with applicants during the admissions process – e.g., requests for documentation, coordinating informational mailings, etc. report on enrollment goals through each stage to matriculation support the transition from admitted applicant to matriculant (active status). 3.
Programmatic Support :
assist with data collection, university and external reporting support faculty in grant initiatives offer programmatic support as additional duties are needed
EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
: (A) Education requirement : Bachelor’s degree required with appropriate experience preferred. (B) Licenses or certifications : Obtain PA Act 153 clearances (PA State Police Criminal History Report, PA Child Abuse Clearance, FBI Clearance); must have a valid PA driver’s license. (C) Technical/computer skills : Create and deliver presentations Demonstrated competency in a wide range of communication material such as print, advertisements, writing, website, emails, social media, design, etc. Comfortable with use of multiple social media channels Computer literate: Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Professional, fluency in electronic communication (D) Prior experience : Previous employment in an educational setting Previous admissions, recruiting, and/or advising experience desirable (E) Other skills/requirements Professionally represent the University Excellent communication and presentation skills (written and oral) Good interpersonal skills and pleasant, engaging manner Work under pressure, manage more than one project at a time, and meet deadlines Project management principles and practices Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with staff, internal administration/faculty and third parties Physical Demands Must be able to available for recruiting purposes (visiting institutions, attending University recruitment and outreach events, etc.), possibly evenings and weekends. Must be able to set up and break down table displays at recruiting events.
