In celebration of its 125th year of existence on April 7, 2022, Voorhees College was renamed Voorhees University to honor founder, Elizabeth Evelyn Wight. 8:00 am•5:00 pm Monday•Friday (Evenings, weekends, and travel may be required)

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Reports to the Vice President for Student Affairs. Supervises the work of all student assistants assigned to the office. Organizes and implements procedures for executing various administrative assignments. Compiles source materials and research data needed to prepare various records and reports by the Vice Presidents. Reviews incoming correspondences to alert the Vice President more promptly to matters of special concern or interest and to transmit routine correspondence to an appropriate office for action. Monitor and maintain attendance tracking systems for student programs, activities, and dining services, including oversight of ID card swipe data and equipment functionality. Determines when pertinent material from the files should be attached to certain documents with which the Vice President must deal with. Composes drafts of reports and letters for Vice President’s review and transmit replies to routine correspondence on their behalf. Coordinates the activities of other clerical staff in the Division of Student Affairs during such times as the workload in the Vice President’s office may require the utilization of such staff. Oversees the organization and maintenance of records and documentation within the Office of the Vice President. Provide administrative support for judicial processes, including drafting and preparing disciplinary correspondence in coordination with the Judicial Chair. Performs other duties that may be assigned by the immediate supervisors

EDUCATION A

bachelor’s degree in communication, office administration, or other appropriate field and three years of administrative or secretarial experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

The ability to negotiate technology and be tech savvy Ability to compose and prepare reports, records, correspondence, and other documents. Ability to exercise judgment and discretion in interpreting and applying operational policies and procedures. Ability to understand and execute complex written and oral instructions, to type at a corrected rate of sixty words per minute, extensive understanding of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Publisher. Extensive knowledge of office management policies, procedures, and practices.
