The Administrative Coordinator reports to a senior leader within MUSC. Under limited supervision, the Senior Executive Administrative Coordinator performs specialized and routine operational and administrative functions to support the department(s) to maintain an efficient and effective operation.

Job Summary/Purpose:

Ability to compose correspondence and proof assignments to ensure accuracy of documents; excellent interpersonal, organizational, and written and verbal communication skills required; highly detail oriented; ability to exercise good judgment in decision-making. Must be able to see the overall picture of the department/role and anticipate needs/think ahead when completing work. Ability to work efficiently and effectively under deadline pressures and to simultaneously handle multiple assignments and projects with speed and accuracy; professional maturity; high degree of honesty, integrity and confidentiality; ability to work with individuals in a tactful diplomatic manner that enhances the image of the office.

Minimum Training and Education:

A high school diploma and four years relevant experience in business management, public administration or administrative services; or a bachelor’s degree and two years experience in business management, public administration or administrative services.

For every 100 additional pounds, assistance will be required from another healthcare worker. 20 lbs. of force is needed to push a 400 lb. patient in a wheelchair on carpet. 25 lbs. of force is required to push a stretcher with a patient with one hand. Ability to maintain vision 20/40 corrected. (C) Ability to see and recognize objects close at hand or at a distance. (C) Ability to match or discriminate between colors. (C) Ability to determine distance/relationship between objects; depth perception. (C) Good peripheral vision capabilities. (C) Ability to maintain hearing acuity, with correction. (C) Ability to perform gross motor functions with frequent fine motor movements. (C) Ability to deal effectively with stressful situations. (C) Ability to work rotating shifts.
