Position Summary:
The Central Scheduling Supervisor is responsible for accurately scheduling and re-scheduling complex patient procedures and appointments. Key requirements involve employee management and training; corporate and regulatory compliance; risk management; policy & procedure management; medical record management; technical issues to include information technology; physical office issue resolution and daily workflow.
Qualifications:
•Assessment of overall credit worthiness by review of a consumer credit report is required.•
Education:
High School Diploma required.
Associate degree preferred.
Experience
A minimum of three (3) years’ experience in patient scheduling in an acute care facility required.
Licensure/Certification/Registration
CHAA Certification (Certified Health Access Associate) required or obtained within 6-months of hire.
Medical Terminology certification preferred.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Exhibiting proficiency in the scheduling procedures.
Scheduling appointments and radiology according to practice guidelines.
Entering appropriate insurance, initiating authorizations and referrals, and performing Key User duties with minimal errors.
Assist the Central Scheduling Director in providing support needed to facilitate implementation where appropriate. Prepare reports for administrative use as determined by Director. Participates in making departmental schedules and provides input when preparing probationary and/or annual evaluations.
Occasional travel to clinics and complete other duties as assigned.
Display core customer service skills in all interactions.
Effectively utilize strong organizational skills.
Consistently display effective verbal and written communication skills. Proficient understanding and use of technology/PC skills required.
Regularly exercise independent judgement.
Completes other duties as assigned by department leadership.
