Job Description
CopperPoint has an exciting opportunity for a Billing & Collections Representative II. The Billing & Collections Representative II is responsible for accurate and timely customer billing utilizing knowledge of company products, processes, and internal resources. They also provide a high level of customer service to internal and external customers by demonstrating prompt and thorough attention to issues and requests. If you are located in Phoenix, AZ; West Lake Village, CA; Boise, ID; Seattle, WA; or Anchorage, AK the work model will be a hybrid of remote work and office work. If you are located anywhere else, it will be a full-time remote position.
Job Responsibilities:
Develop a thorough understanding of the Billing, Delinquency, and Collections process in order to serve as the Subject Matter Expert Investigate and respond to billing and collections inquiries from agents/brokers, insureds, and internal staff via phone and email Research and resolve account disputes, escalations, and billing discrepancies Perform account reconciliations and transaction summary reviews Identify process change suggestions to ensure efficiency and accuracy of processing Validate process documents and recommend changes Ensure proper handling of non-payment notice of cancellations / rescind notice of cancellations / reinstatements Manage assigned portfolio of premium collection accounts, including a small portfolio of problem or special handling accounts Work to move delinquent accounts through our collections process Assess past due reports, prepare collections related correspondence, and assist agents/brokers, insureds, and internal staff with collection issues Ensure adherence to and compliance with all state and federal regulations as well as all company collection related policies Complete daily functions of the Billing & Collections team Compile various collections reports and presentations for review by management Confirm accuracy of tasks and procedures Collect on delinquent accounts via phone and email Work closely and help manage external collections partners Adhere to established service level expectations for handle time and quality
Qualifications/Competencies:
Bachelor’s degree preferably in Accounting, Business, Finance or related field 3+ years’ experience in a professional work environment Previous experience in accounting, billing, collections and/or insurance a plus Knowledge of the workers’ compensation and commercial lines insurance processes, including knowledge of underwriting and audit functions Excellent problem solving and research skills Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize Exceptional customer service and interpersonal relationship skills

Salary Range:
$50,000.00 – $65,000.00 annually Compensation may vary depending on skills, experience, education, and geographical location. In addition to base salary, compensation may include an annual discretionary bonus.
