Medical Insurance Collections Specialist Position Available In Duval, Florida

Vaco Staffing is hiring a Medical Collections Representative for a large healthcare/ Worker’s Comp organization in Jacksonville. This position involves working with patients, providers, and internal teams to resolve billing issues, improve payment processes, and ensure accurate records are maintained.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Handle inbound finance calls and emails from customers and healthcare providers. Address billing inquiries, discrepancies, and issues with patients and providers. Collaborate with management and leadership to develop effective collection strategies. Contact customers to arrange payment for outstanding balances. Educate customers on the billing process to prevent recurring delinquency. Maintain accurate records of all interactions, payments, and documents. Research billing discrepancies and identify appropriate contacts for resolution. Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Required Skills and Abilities:

Strong ability to work independently and within a team environment. Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. Strong analytical and research abilities. Proficient in the use of office equipment (copier, scanner, PC). Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Must be able to multi-task, follow procedures, and actively listen. Bilingual candidates are a plus. Proficient in Microsoft Outlook and MS Office applications.

Education & Experience:

Collections experience in a healthcare/ Worker’s Comp organization required Prior medical billing or collections experience is ideal. Familiarity with QuickBooks is a plus. Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual’s skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, as well as other business and organizational needs. With that said, as required by local law in geographies that require salary range disclosure, Vaco notes the salary range for the role as follows: $18-20/hr. . The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, and can participate in medical, dental, and vision benefits as well as the company’s 401(k) retirement plan.
