Collection Specialist Diversified Services Enterprises, Inc. Sarasota, FL 34243 Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Collection Agent to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and collecting outstanding debts while maintaining positive relationships with clients. This role requires a strong understanding of medical billing and revenue cycle management, along with proficiency in accounting software and account reconciliation. Responsibilities Contact clients to collect overdue payments and negotiate payment arrangements. Review accounts for accuracy and resolve discrepancies through account analysis. Maintain detailed records of all communications and transactions related to collections. Process payments and ensure proper coding, including familiarity with ICD-10 standards. Collaborate with the medical billing team to address any issues related to accounts payable and medical collections. Provide support in revenue cycle management by analyzing accounts and identifying trends in payment delays. Assist in the development of collection strategies to improve recovery rates. Requirements Proven experience as a Collection Agent or in a similar role, preferably within the medical field. Strong knowledge of accounting software and medical billing processes. Familiarity with account reconciliation practices and revenue cycle management principles. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to negotiate effectively. Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills for account analysis. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, demonstrating a proactive approach to problem-solving. Knowledge of coding practices, including ICD-10, is highly desirable.
