$17.00 per hour, with an incentive of 15% reimbursement on all successfully collected past-due account balances .
Job Summary:
The Collections Representative is responsible for managing patient account balances by initiating outbound communications, reviewing accounts, and ensuring timely resolution of outstanding issues. This role requires a customer service-oriented individual who can work efficiently in a fast-paced healthcare environment while maintaining professionalism and compliance. Key Responsibilities Make outbound calls to patients regarding outstanding account balances to secure payment or arrange payment plans. Follow up on overdue accounts and initiate appropriate collection actions according to policy. Work no-show charge reports to identify and resolve issues, including communication with patients. Handle inbound patient inquiries related to balances, no-shows, and payment options with accuracy and empathy. Review and address $0 encounters to ensure all services are properly captured and processed. Manage patient discharge-related follow-ups to resolve open items on accounts. Monitor and respond to Google reviews, escalating issues as necessary and maintaining a positive public image. Document all collection activities and patient interactions in the practice management system accurately and timely. Collaborate with billing, front office, and clinical teams to resolve patient concerns and support account resolution.

Minimum Job Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s degree in healthcare administration or related field preferred.
- 1+ years of experience in medical collections, billing, or patient account services preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive patient information with confidentiality and professionalism.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Customer service mindset with the ability to remain calm and professional under pressure.
