JOB SUMMARY

For this position, the primary goal is being to execute the best possible collection strategy, with the end objective of increased recoveries for all accounts in default. This position specializes in the collection of charged-off accounts. Proactively identifies collectable accounts and conducts all collection activities for the charged-off portfolio, from initial customer contact to collection of funds. This position is also responsible for preparation of accounts for legal action.

SKILLS REQUIRED

1 – 2 years of Collection and/or Recovery experience. Basic PC skills with a working Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel. Ability to prioritize in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with minimal supervision Solid attention to details Ability to type 30-35 wpm Excellent verbal and written communications and math skills High school diploma required; A.S. Degree preferred

PRIMARY DUTIES

Meet targeted goals of Recovery Department as set by management. Handle in-bound and out-bound calls. Determine and monitor any necessary payment plans. Resolve customer complaints referred by management. Process any claims from insurance companies by sending letter of guarantees. Understands and applies knowledge of credit bureau reports as it relates to the performance of daily activities. Assist administratively with departmental tasks as needed. Adhere to guidelines state in the Fair Debt Collections Practices Act. Demonstrate continuous effort to improve operations and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality customer service.
