POSITION SUMMARY
The primary purpose of the Credentialing & Authorizations Specialist is to assist in the day-to-day billing/collections functions of the organization. This person must be a detail-oriented, highly accurate and motivated team member. Primary duties include managing and filing authorizations and claims for our clients and credentialing members of the organization.

Essential Functions of Billing Specialist:
- Oversee and streamline claims submissions and collections processes
- Assist in executing the day-to-day functions of the billing department
- Plan and implement quality assurance for all processes
- Attend weekly corporate leadership meetings regarding billing, planning, onboarding and implementations
- Assist in standardizing the methods in which work will be accomplished
- Assist in preparing financial and statistical reports that provide insights to our revenue cycle management
- Reply timely to email and phone communication
- Upkeep of credential rules, regulations, contracts
- Monitor and collect accounts receivables
- Data entry on all patient charges and refunds
- Maintain timeline of client authorizations over all sites
- Communication with Regional Clinical Director (RCD) and analyst team for timelines and due dates of treatment plans and other associated documents
- Knowledge of ABA billing is preferred
- Knowledge and upkeep of changing insurance protocols and regulations and requirements
- Other duties as assigned
Other Requirements:
- Must be able to receive detailed information through oral and written communication
- Must pass criminal background check
- Must complete HIPAA certification on an annual basis
- Familiarity with medical terminology and CPT codes
- Familiarity with ICD-10 Diagnosis Codes
- Familiarity with billing platforms and
CMS-1500

SKILLS & ABILITIES
Education:
Highschool Diploma or GED, Coursework in
Medical Billing Experience:
2 or more years of billing experience
- ABA billing experience preferred.
Computer Skills:
Strong internet and technology skills. Knowledge of Microsoft Office (especially Excel). Ability to type quickly and process claims with speed.
Certificates & Licenses:
Medical billing and coding, preferred but not required.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work is performed primarily in an office setting.
