Billing and Data Analyst City of Lauderhill – 3.4 Lauderhill, FL Job Details Part-time $25.48 an hour 11 hours ago Qualifications Mid-level 3 years High school diploma or GED Certified Professional Coder Driver’s License Math Full Job Description General Statement of Job The purpose of this position is provide specialized clerical support work by processing, billing and collecting payments for patients who were rendered emergency medical services by the City of Lauderhill, under the general direction of the Fire Chief or their designee. Employees in this classification collect information on services, accounts and patients, in order to process invoices, collect payment, code documents and maintain accounting records. Performs other duties as assigned. Essential Functions The following knowledge, skills, and abilities, as outlined herein, are intended to be representative of the type of tasks performed within this position. Other duties may be required and assigned. Reviews reports for rescue service activities; ensures completeness and accuracy of patient information; enters data into the computer billing system. Processes invoices, collects and enters payments; reconciles accounts; produces and reviews appropriate accounting information. Submits timely claims to insurance carriers for emergency medical and transportation services; follows up on unpaid or denied claims. Reviews open accounts routinely for proper computer billing and takes needed action for further collection effort; examines such accounts to ensure completeness of necessary data such as insurance payments, completeness of third party payments, and other related information. Responds to a variety of telephone and written requests for information on open accounts from patients, patient family members, attorneys, or insurance companies. Maintains HIPPA compliance; keeps updated on trends in billing trends. Compiles analytical and statistical reports. Provides compassionate and thorough customer service. Performs other duties as assigned. Minimum and Preferred Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent; AND Three (3) years of work experience in billing, collections, or closely related area; AND Valid State of Florida Driver License.
