We’re looking for a Billing Coordinator to join our team in our Cypress Creek office! In this role, you’ll be responsible for managing and executing attorney billing for our firm. You’ll also handle various other accounting and bookkeeping tasks, always following our established policies.
Must Have’s:
Experience:
2 to 3 years of billing or accounting experience , preferably in a law firm setting .
Software Proficiency:
Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and experience with 3E is preferred.
What You’ll Do:
Manage Attorney Billing:
Take charge of the entire billing process for our attorneys.
Review Pre-Bills:
Edit and review pre-bills based on requests from attorneys and secretaries.
Apply Retainers:
Accurately apply retainer funds as directed by attorneys.
Process Write-Offs:
Handle write-offs in accordance with firm policy.
Generate Complex Bills:
Create intricate invoices efficiently, including those with multiple discounts, split-party billing, and electronic submissions.
Handle High Volume:
Comfortably manage a large number of bills each month.
Communicate Effectively:
Interact and communicate professionally with attorneys, staff, vendors, and clients.
Ensure Accuracy:
Review and verify the accuracy of all billing information and supporting documentation.
Resolve Billing Issues:
Research and respond to any inquiries or problems related to billing.
Finalize Client Bills:
Create and print the final bills for clients.
Create Reports:
Generate and distribute monthly reports.
Apply Firm Policies:
Understand and apply the firm’s billing policies in all your work.
Operate Office Equipment:
Use standard office equipment, including computers, copiers, fax machines, and a 10-key calculator.
Maintain Systems:
Be familiar with and use computer system manuals and procedures, and update procedural manuals as needed. Assist with
Legal Inquiries:
(Potentially) help prepare documentation and responses for legal inquiries, litigation, and court appearances.
Utilize Billing Websites:
Work with various billing websites such as TyMetrix, CounselLink, Tracker, and Datacert.
Maintain Confidentiality:
Always ensure strict confidentiality of client and firm matters.
Support Special Projects:
Assist with special projects as needed.
