Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Billing Coordinator to join our medical office team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely billing, denials and medical coding, while providing excellent customer service to our patients. This role requires a strong understanding of medical billing and coding principles, including ICD-9 and ICD-10, as well as experience with medical office systems and collections.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and submit accurate and timely medical claims to insurance providers, including Medicare and Medicaid.
- Review and analyze patient records, including medical history and diagnosis codes, to ensure proper billing and coding.
- Utilize medical terminology and ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding guidelines to assign accurate diagnosis and procedure codes.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of medical coding and billing regulations and guidelines.
- Identify and resolve billing and coding errors in a timely and efficient manner.
- Develop and maintain relationships with patients and healthcare providers to ensure accurate and timely billing.
- Participate in ongoing training and education to stay current with changes in medical coding and billing regulations.
- Perform medical collections as necessary to ensure prompt payment from patients.
- Utilize medical office systems to manage patient records, billing and coding, and collections.
Skills:
- Proficiency in medical billing and coding, including ICD-9 and ICD-10.
