The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring timely collection of payments from patients and insurance companies, while maintaining a high level of professionalism and empathy. This position is essential for supporting the financial health of our medical facility, which operates as a Level II Trauma Center, providing comprehensive care to patients. Duties Review patient accounts for outstanding balances and initiate collection processes. Communicate with patients regarding their financial responsibilities and payment options. Collaborate with insurance companies to resolve billing discrepancies and obtain necessary authorizations. Maintain accurate records of all communications and transactions related to collections. Assist in the coding process to ensure proper billing practices are followed. Provide medical administrative support as needed, including handling inquiries related to vital signs and medication administration. Work closely with various departments, including urgent care and medical-surgical units, to facilitate smooth operations. Skills Strong knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, and basic life support principles. Familiarity with coding practices relevant to medical billing and collections. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to handle sensitive conversations with tact. Proficiency in using medical administrative software and databases for tracking accounts. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Attention to detail and strong organizational skills to manage multiple accounts effectively. Experience in a healthcare setting, particularly within urgent care or trauma centers, is preferred but not required.
