Certified Coding Associate Certified Coding Specialist CPT coding EMR systems Epic Medical terminology Communication skills Teaching Office experience Full Job Description Job Summary Responsible for reviewing the medical records in its entirety, apply coding guidelines and regulations and assign ICD-CM and/ or OCS and CPT diagnosis and procedures codes accurately and timely. Will lead the front administration staff in team work and proper patient focus care. Qualifications 1. High School diploma or equivalent required 2. Minimum one years’ experience in office healthcare setting, preferred. 3. Coding credentials, i.e. CCS, COC, CCS-P, CPC, RHIT, and RHIA. 4. Working knowledge of healthcare revenue cycle functions, including documentation, coding and billing guidelines preferred. 5. Ability to accurately apply ICD-10 diagnosis, procedures and CPT/HCPCs procedure codes preferred. 6. Thorough knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, and pharmacology required. 7. Ability to use computers effectively. 8. Excellent communication skills, including written and oral, teaching and presentation skills required. 9. Knowledge of EMR (Athena, EPIC) 10. Knowledge or various encoders (Optum, Clintegrity, Compliance 360 and 3M), to include knowledge of CAC system.
Preferred:
1. Credentials from AHIMA or AAPC 2. Three + years coding experience in multispecialty 3. Three (3) to five (5) years’ experience in Medical Office Care, CPT-ICD-10-CM codes. 4. Previous experience with compliance software.
