Goodlette-frank Road North, Naples, FL 34102 Job Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Prior Authorization/Billing Representative to join our cardiology team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of medical terminology, coding, and insurance verification processes, as well as a commitment to maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations. Responsibilities Review and process prior authorization requests for medical services and procedures. Verify patient insurance coverage and eligibility for requested services. Run daily schedules to ensure all patients have been authorized. Communicate effectively with our advanced practice providers, patients, and insurance companies to gather necessary information. Utilize ICD-10 coding systems to ensure accurate documentation of diagnoses and procedures. Maintain organized medical records and documentation in accordance with HIPAA regulations. Collaborate with managed care organizations to facilitate the authorization process. Address any issues or denials related to prior authorizations and work towards resolution. Stay updated on changes in insurance policies, coding practices, and healthcare regulations. Work claim denials and patient A/R. Experience Previous experience in a healthcare setting, particularly in roles involving coding, insurance verification, or billing. Proficiency in medical terminology and understanding of medical coding systems (ICD-10). Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and compliance standards. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail to manage multiple requests efficiently. Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with various stakeholders in the healthcare system.
