Summary:
We are looking to employ a Billing Representative with outstanding written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills to join our team. You will have excellent administrative and critical thinking skills with the ability to multi-task and handle difficult situations in a fast-paced environment. The Billing Representative is responsible for assisting with insurance verifications, authorizations, and pre-service patient communications. Duties include, but are not limited to: Surgical Verifications Creating estimates Taking calls and answering inquiries Contacting patients Posting surgery claims Obtaining authorizations and updating notes
Requirements:
Working knowledge of CPT, HCPC, and ICD-10 codes Basic understanding of Medical Terminology (preferably ophthalmology) Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to interact with insurance companies, patients and employees in a courteous, professional manner at all times Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to multi-task and function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment Comply with HIPPA confidentiality standards when accessing or communicating patient information
Education and Experience:
High School Diploma or equivalent Two years of experience in a medical office, preferred
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk, working on a computer Repetitive hand movements (Specifically keyboarding and writing)
