Position Summary:
We are looking for a self-motivated and detail-oriented individual with a strong understanding of the entire revenue cycle process—from billing to collections. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in medical collections, claim follow-up, and payer-specific guidelines. Your role will be crucial in ensuring accurate and timely reimbursement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform follow-up on unpaid and denied claims through customer service calls, payer portals, chat, IVR systems, and online tools.
- Verify and monitor claim status and ensure appropriate resolution of outstanding balances.
- Understand and apply insurance carrier guidelines for timely filing, reconsiderations, and appeals. Document account activity accurately and escalate unresolved issues when necessary.
- Collaborate with billing and front office staff to ensure claim accuracy and completeness.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of payer policies, coding updates, and revenue cycle trends.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years of medical billing and collections experience required.
- In-depth understanding of the entire revenue cycle from patient registration through final payment.
- Proven experience working with insurance carriers and navigating appeals and reconsideration processes.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced medical office environment.
- Proficient in EHR and PM systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and payer websites.
Preferred Experience:
- Endocrinology or specialty practice billing experience is a plus.
- CPC or RMC certification is a plus but not required.
Schedule:
Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00
PM Compensation:
