Medical Billing Clerk Part Time
Universal Spine and Joint Specialists is a Tampa, FL-based with multiple locations in the Tampa Bay area. We are currently seeking a Medical Billing Clerk and Eclinical Works EMR experience as a plus!
Job Summary:
The Medical Billing Clerk will be assisting the Billing dept with answering phone calls, taking messages, scanning documents, and assisting with any other clerical needs. The ideal candidate will have excellent computer skills and be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
Responsibilities
Help post payments accurately to patient accounts and reconcile discrepancies.
Review and process medical billing information in accordance with established protocols.
Help coordinate all settlement agreements with payments received
Collaborate with the billing team to resolve any payment-related issues or inquiries. Assist in coordinating receipt of trial and deposition payments that need posting as needed to ensure timely payment from insurance providers.
Create ledgers
Mail processing
Requirements
Proven experience in payment posting within a healthcare setting.
Strong understanding of medical terminology and coding practices
Familiarity with EMR systems is preferred.
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
Understanding checks and balances
Ability to communicate effectively with patients, insurance companies, legal professionals and healthcare professionals.
