The primary purpose of this position is to assist the Bursar with student billing and collections of student accounts. This position will report to the Bursar and assist the Assistant Bursar as needed. Responsibilities Assist students and parents with interpreting charges and credits on the student’s account. Manage Accounts Receivable which includes collections of past due accounts. Consult with Collection Agencies to ensure payments are recorded correctly. Administer the Florida Prepaid Plan for the University of Tampa. Provide support to students and parents in regard to program. Administer and assist with various third-party billing for student accounts. Respond to students, third parties, and colleagues, in person, on the phone, and via email or written correspondences to resolve student account problems and facilitate solutions to their concerns and issues. Prepare post and maintain student records in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles. Other duties and special projects may be assigned as needed. Contribute to a work environment that encourages knowledge of, respect for, and development of skills to engage with those of other cultures and backgrounds. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field preferred. Three years or more of student accounting and receivables experience. Working experience in a university environment preferred. Must be familiar with FERPA regulations Knowledge of Workday, or similar student information system. Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Ability to build rapport with students, parents, faculty, staff and colleagues. Ability to work occasional evenings weekends during peak times. Knowledge of or the ability to learn quickly The University of Tampa software programs such as Workday and Microsoft Office. Willingness to embrace new technologies and innovative organizational practices. Summer:
