Medical Billing Specialist Central Florida Treatment Center 1810 West Colonial Drive, Orlando, FL 32804 Medical Billing Specialist Job Responsibilities Verifying insurance eligibility: Checking patient insurance information to confirm active coverage, including plan details like deductibles, copayments, and benefit limits.
Obtaining prior authorizations:
Contacting insurance companies to request pre-approval for specific medical services that require prior authorization.
Insurance Prior Authorization Payment Posting:
Accurately post payments from various sources, including electronic remittances, checks, and credit card transactions, into the billing system. Identify and resolve discrepancies in payments, ensuring all payments are correctly applied to the corresponding patient accounts.
Patient communication:
Explaining insurance coverage to patients, addressing any questions regarding their benefits and potential out-of-pocket costs.
Claims submission support:
Gathering necessary patient and insurance information to accurately complete medical billing claims.
Data entry and record keeping:
Maintaining accurate patient demographics and insurance details within the electronic health record system.
Insurance company interaction:
Navigating insurance company portals, utilizing online tools, and resolving any billing discrepancies with insurance providers.
Compliance with HIPAA regulations:
Protecting sensitive patient information by following privacy and security guidelines. Payor relations to include credentialing providers.
Required skills:
