POSITION OVERVIEW
The firm is seeking a meticulous and organized Billing Specialist to join their Finance team. This role is pivotal in ensuring accurate and timely billing processes, directly contributing to the firm’s operational efficiency. The ideal candidate for the Billing Specialist role will have a solid background in law firm billing practices, with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced setting.
RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE BILLING SPECIALIST
Prepare, review, and process client invoices in compliance with firm policies.
Collaborate with attorneys and staff to resolve billing discrepancies and ensure accurate invoice generation.
Maintain detailed and organized billing records.
Utilize billing software to track billable hours, expenses, and client accounts.
Assist in month-end and year-end billing procedures.
Respond to client inquiries regarding billing issues and provide solutions promptly.
Generate ad hoc billing reports as needed.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE/SKILLS FOR THE BILLING SPECIALIST
Minimum of 3 years of billing experience within a law firm.
Proficiency in billing software and accounting systems.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients and internal teams.
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple deadlines.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE/SKILLS FOR THE BILLING SPECIALIST
Experience with Aderant billing software is a plus.
Bilingual (Spanish/English) is a plus.
Familiarity with international billing practices.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred, but not required.
