Job Description We are lookingfor a very energetic and multitasking Medical Billing AccountingAssistant to join our billing team and work under the supervisionof the Billing & Accounting Manager. This dedicated person willassist with completing billing-related activities on time,accurately, and with an emphasis on excellent customer service.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Report to Billing & Accounting ManagerCompleting billing-related activities on time and accurately.
Performing accounting procedures such as bills, costs and EremitProcessing. Keeping track of accounting records. Reviewing, writingand justifying charges Monitoring, confirming, and processingdelinquent receipts. Collecting, processing, and allocating fundsrelated to payments. Reconcile accounts receivable and payablebalances Reconcile bank statements with company records. Identifydiscrepancies and resolve any issues promptly. Participating incharge capture such as patient registration, insuranceverification, billing, and collections. Reconciling billingaccounts. Ensuring timely and accurate submission of insuranceclaims and patient bills. Supervising the billing department staff,including training on behalf of the Billing Manager. Remainingupdated on changes in healthcare billing and coding standards.
Ensuring patient billing inquiries and complaints are addressed ina timely and professional manner. Assisting the Billing Manager onpreparing documents for auditing. Helping the manager preparefinancial statements, and reports. Assist with the preparationsteps, as well as execute other tasks.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’sdegree in accounting, finance, business, management, healthcare orother related field with at least 1 year of experience. Associatedegree with at least 2 years of experience. Have at least 1 year ofexperience working in the medical field; Eye clinics and practicesare preferred. 1 year of experience in medical coding and /orbilling is a plus.
