Billing Specialist CertiTemp Inc. Macon, GA 31216 Job Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Billing Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing billing processes, ensuring accuracy in financial transactions, and maintaining compliance with relevant regulations. This role requires proficiency in accounting software and a solid understanding of medical terminology, making it essential for candidates to have a background in both finance and healthcare. Responsibilities Process and manage billing for services rendered, ensuring timely and accurate invoicing. Perform data entry tasks related to billing and account management. Prepare journal entries and maintain accurate financial records. Conduct account analysis to identify discrepancies and resolve billing issues. Utilize accounting software such as Sage to manage financial transactions effectively. Ensure compliance with SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley) regulations in all billing practices. Collaborate with medical staff to understand medical terminology relevant to billing processes. Manage medical collections, following up on outstanding accounts as necessary. Maintain organized documentation of all billing activities for audit purposes. Requirements Proven experience in billing or accounting roles, preferably within the healthcare sector. Proficiency in accounting software and financial software applications. Strong data entry skills with a high level of accuracy. Familiarity with journal entries and account analysis techniques. Knowledge of SOX compliance standards is preferred. Understanding of medical terminology is a plus, particularly in relation to billing practices. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact effectively with team members and clients.
