The ideal candidate will be responsible for accurately coding patient diagnoses and procedures, managing medical records, and ensuring that billing processes comply with regulations. This role is essential in facilitating the financial operations of our medical practice while maintaining the integrity of patient information. Responsibilities Review and analyze patient records to determine appropriate coding for diagnoses and procedures using ICD-10 and DRG systems. Accurately input codes into medical billing software, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of medical terminology, coding guidelines, and billing practices. Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify any discrepancies in documentation or coding. Manage medical collections by following up on unpaid claims and resolving billing issues. Ensure the confidentiality of patient information in accordance with HIPAA regulations. Assist in maintaining organized medical records for easy retrieval and compliance audits. Experience Previous experience in a medical office setting is preferred, with a strong understanding of medical coding practices. Proficiency in using medical billing systems and electronic health record (EHR) software. Familiarity with medical terminology, coding standards, and billing processes is essential. Experience with medical collection processes is a plus. Certification in Medical Coding (CPC, CCS, or equivalent) is highly desirable but not mandatory.
