The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of medical terminology, coding systems, and billing processes. As a Medical Biller, you will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate billing and collections for medical services provided to patients. This position requires proficiency in managing medical records, processing claims, and communicating effectively with insurance companies and patients. Responsibilities Review and verify patient information and insurance coverage for accuracy. Prepare and submit electronic claims to insurance companies using appropriate coding systems such as ICD-9 and ICD-10. Ensure compliance with medical billing regulations and guidelines, including DRG (Diagnosis-Related Group) coding. Manage accounts receivable by following up on unpaid claims and resolving any discrepancies. Maintain accurate medical records and documentation to support billing processes. Communicate with healthcare providers, patients, and insurance representatives regarding billing inquiries and payment issues. Conduct medical collections as necessary while adhering to ethical standards. Qualifications Proven experience in a medical office setting with a focus on medical billing or coding. Strong knowledge of medical terminology, coding systems (ICD-9, ICD-10), and DRG classifications. Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and medical billing software. Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational skills. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Previous experience in medical collection is a plus. Certification in Medical Billing or Coding is preferred but not required.
