Completes timely and accurate billing to Medicare, Medicaid, and Insurance. Verifies Medicare and Medicaid information obtained on new admissions. Responsible for preparation, filing, and collection of all Medicare, Medicaid, Insurance and private pay and non-funded claims. Obtains verification and authorization for commercial insurance benefits for Homecare and IPU patients. Bills Medicaid Room and Board. Assists with monthly collection balancing. Posts all monies received into patient billing system. Updates patient care software with billing rates as needed. Participates in creating, reviewing and updating AR policies and procedures. Prepares Quarterly Medicare Credit Balance Report. Prepares and generates PS&R report through CMS for cost report Rebill outstanding charges as needed, and follow through on all accounts until payment is obtained. Billing experience required Strong Data Entry Skills required Proficient computer skills required (MS Office, Excel, intranet applications) Netsmart experience preferred Hospice experience preferred Working knowledge of medical terminology preferred Excellent oral and written communication skills
