Job Description
Billing Specialist – Baton Rouge Ultimate Staffing Services is actively seeking a dedicated Billing Specialist to join their client’s dynamic team in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. This role is crucial for ensuring smooth billing operations and maintaining accurate financial records within a legal setting. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Handle appeals for clients, including gathering additional information needed for appeals, submission of appeals, and write-offs. Responsible for generating pre-bills, processing invoice revisions, finalizing invoices, and electronic submissions. Responsible for monitoring aged Work-in-Process and following up with billing attorneys. Communicate client billing guidelines to attorneys and legal staff as needed. Assist file intake staff with accurate maintenance of timekeeper rates, task and activity codes, cost exemptions, and billing information pertinent to specific clients/matters. Other duties as assigned by Manager.
Education and Experience Required:
The Billing Coordinator is required to have a bachelor’s degree or a minimum of 2 years of legal billing experience. Experience in 3E is preferred.
Qualifications and Skills Required:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and must be courteous, professional, and a team player. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal billing software, Elite is a plus. Strong organizational skills with an ability to multi-task.
Work Hours:
Fully in-office: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00
PM Salary:
