ABOUT YOU
As a Pier Clerk (Bargaining Unit, Local Union No. 809) you are detail-oriented,anized, and thrive in fast-paced environments w accuracy matters. You bring a customer-focused mindset,municate clearly and professionally, and confidently navigate systems and processes to ensure smooth operations. With a steady, reliable approach, you adapt quickly to shifting priorities and take ownership of your work to support the seamless functioning of marine and cruise terminal activities.
What you will do:
Generate accurate and timely invoices for export containers, cruise terminal operations, vessel services, and other terminal activities using the Terminal Operating System (TOS).
Verify billing details, calculate fees such as demurrage and storage, and ensure proper billing parties are identified.
Provide professional customer service by responding to billing inquiries, assisting with container releases, and supporting truckers at the terminal.
Maintain up-to-date records, including equipment inventories and billing analytics, and support cruise operations and other tasks as needed.
WHAT YOU OFFER
High school diploma or equivalent.
Path 1: 1-3 years’ billing or administrative experience, including use of Microsoft Office, invoice preparation, billing analytics, and online payment platforms.
OR Path 2: Completion of Massport’s Maritime Billing LMS curriculum, covering Microsoft Office (including Excel), invoice and billing analytics preparation, online payment platforms, and other Authority-required courses.
Demonstrated proficiency in billing processes, Terminal Operating System (TOS), and strongmunication and customer service skills in a fast-paced environment.
