JOB STATEMENT
Ensure accuracy, follow-through, and overall quality control with the agency’s third-party billing company.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Billing for
Massachusetts Outpatient Mental Health Practice:
Ensure new patient benefits have been verified accurately by the billing company. Set the new patient up in the EHR to include billing (copay, deductible), intake paperwork, and ensure the clinician knows what to charge the patient. Collaborate with the billing company to review denied claims, insurance verification, and billing issues. Review EOB’s and resolve discrepancies. Review/audit clinician billing journals for each week – ensure accuracy of session dates, CPT codes, resolve any fee issues and ensure all copays have been collected. Track deductibles (annual and contracted) and reflect updates in EHR in a timely fashion. Light contact with clients to discuss billing matters as needed via phone or email.
EDUCATION/LICENSURE
• High School diploma required, college degree preferred. • Specialized training in Massachusetts medical billing specific to outpatient mental health practices
